Re: Used oem axles for 93 twagon
Understood, thanks for the follow up, Like a lot of forums they end up cluttered with bad info and I haven’t had time to really dig in and parse a good swap/build thread

Re: Used oem axles for 93 twagon
Can’t help but would love to know more about the Impreza AWD conversion. I have been trying to find a gen 1 legacy at a local salvage yard but nowadays they are few and far between, the only one I’ve found in a year was an auto and I want to convert to 5-speed if I’m gonna go that deep into this car...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
This starter circuit continues to baffle me. I replaced the neutral inhibitor switch with a new one, adjusted it per the manual, still won’t start with the key. I can still jump the starter direct off the battery and it fires up just fine. The dash lights dim and the blower fan slows down noticeably...

Re: Add Factory Roof Rack to Bare Roof 90 Legacy Wagon
That’s what I had thought, either the plates with mounting holes are tacked under the roof skin or they are a loose piece that goes with the rack. I don’t relish the idea of taking the headliner out of mine only because the interior Is one of the few elements of the car that is actually in good orig...

Add Factory Roof Rack to Bare Roof 90 Legacy Wagon
My ‘90 Legacy wagon project is coming together slowly, lo and behold I found a 92 wagon in a local pull-a-part and scavenged a few remaining usable parts I need. Junkyard wagon has a factory roof rack and crossbars, however mine has a clean roof with no mounting holes. Since these cars are pretty mo...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
From what I can tell it also illuminates the dash panel for shifter position (not a huge issue as I want to swap to a manual anyway). Still and all I assume bypassing it would just be a jumper direct from the + battery terminal the control wire plug on the starter, right? That’s pretty much what I d...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
Replacing the neutral safety switch, took the OEM one out and cleaned out the innards, polished the contacts inside and it still isn’t working properly. Now it’s just a matter of waiting on rockauto to deliver the new one, plus I should buy new exhaust gaskets since I dropped the headers to get to t...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
Simple check of the fuse box in the drivers footwell and sure enough the 20a for the cooling fan circuit was burned, replaced that and now the fans kick on. Also gave the gas tank a taste of mechanic-in-a-bottle and it started idling better and was able to drive back and forth on my street, up and d...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
Rebuilt my starter and had it bench tested and it was good, however once I reinstalled it I still wasn’t getting any action. I pulled the signal wire from the transmission interlock and was showing 155-170 ohms resistance when I would turn the key to the start position. I put a jumper from the termi...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
Decided since the starter was weak to pull and test it and it’s dead, so I got a rebuild kit on the bench to install this week. Went ahead and changed the engine oil and filter since I know the engine is a runner. Also got some 80w90 for the differential and trying to find some Dex III/IV to flush t...

Re: No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
Need to change the title cause this baby started and ran today! Replaced 3 fuel injectors, 2 with brand new and 1 rebuilt but the 4th one got returned as non-rebuildable so I put it back in and hit Send. Once it burned out the ATF I had fogged the cylinders with it picked up a decent idle and would ...

Any chance you have the headlight sockets and connectors? Someone cut them off of mine before I got the car

No Start/New Member 90 Legacy Wagon
Picked up a 1st gen Legacy wagon that had been off the road since 2016. Bid on an auction expecting someone to come along and outbid me and well the rest is a non-running wagon in my side yard. Rust free, the clearcoat is burned through in a few places but that’s Florida weather for you. Found some ...
