Check your oil filter, may not be tight or could have backed off. Maybe you could clean it all up when cold, then let her idle and look for oil weepage?

RE: engine hesitation

You know, my car kinda runs crappy too, feels like all four wheels are pulling at different speeds under hard acceleration, but rpms stay constant and steady. The car also idles high no matter what I do to adjust. But its still getting 28.5 mpg highway. 138,000mi 91 Legacy ej22 n/a

Exhaust rattling

Hi guys, got a seriously rattling exhaust, heatshields and front catalytic monolith breaking up (I think). What do you think is the the most economical fix to do here? 91 Legacy n/a 4wd 138,000mi.
Also this thing refuses to pass emissions here, co is too high.

[quote="BAC5.2"]Andrew - If you paid $700 for a new cat, you got SCREWED. Not just a little, but a LOT. You can get a new, high flow cat, for around $150.

Where exactly can I get a $150 cat? Which cat are we talking about?

re:Insitu head removal

Hey there, I did remove my heads on my 90 Legacy ej22N/A it was a real pain but can be done. Just remove nuts from front engine mounts (to allow some "upward" movement of engine) remove accessories, ps pump, alt etc... to allow access. As viewed from rear the right side head is much easier...
