I have never heard of 17" usdm factory option wheels on the 2002 wrx. Perhaps dealer installed, but not factory option. Not once while I was working at Carter(the highest volume subaru dealer in the nation) did I come across a 17" wheel on a wrx(non STi) from the factory I dunno if they w...

To my knowledge WRX rims are 16x6.5" and +53mm offset. Which is fine of course since they are subaru rims. I don't think either of those tires come in the size you want. You should be able to scoop up some close-out RT-215s in 215/45ZR16. You have an L right? Those are the right rolling diamete...

Those are definitely aftermarket then. You better find out the specs on them, you will rub bad with a wide tire if the offset is too low.

You can buy the whole car for that, take the skirts, and sell it again.

Another thing to be aware of is serious summer tires tend to be heavy. I had the previous gen Falken Azenis on my RS and it was noticably slower. They gripped like mad though so it depends on your driving needs. I loved 'em.

So you aren't driving on them in the winter? I'd suggest Bridgestone RE070s or Falken Azenis RT-615. I dunno what your budget is. The RE070s might rub too.

I had 712s, they are OK but there are much better tires out there. You auto-x or track the c...

And even more haven't done it right. People have been welding aluminum for years too, but not everyone can do it. Dealing with dozens of chipped and flaked wheels would be testimony to this ... in fact I've yet to see a non-pro painted wheel that wasn't flaked. I've even painted with etching primer...

Painting aluminum so that it stays is difficult at best. Steve It can't be that hard considering hundreds of people with no experience have been doing it successfully for years. If I cared at all about my stock wheels(if they weren't filled with gouges and scratches and whanot) I'd have them...

safer? how so? It's also less likely to chip If your wheels start to develop cracks the powdercoating can conceal them. That's why a lot of people will not powdercoat wheels they race on. If it chips you can always repaint it. From my experience paint last fine, most wheels are painted from the fac...

I have enough power to break traction and still haven't noticed significant torque steer. That's on 225/45/17's on a 17x7.5 ET48 rim. That's close (enough) to the proper offset for a 7.5" wide rim. Saab wheels will fit, well ones off the 9-2X. That's pretty much the only one I know of. If any ...

What changed? And what do manufactures make different about the springs? They changed the front diff. to a helical type, they reprogrammed the DCCD and added a yaw sensor, changed the steering rack, changed the lateral links to lighter AL ones, bumped up the front swaybar size, different hubs, wide...
