I wouldn't want to place a large bet that a stock WRX could beat a stock Altima SE-R around a track... it would be close, and WRX's are not known for posting good times on the tarmac stock, although the bad stock tires hold them back a lot. how about an Infinity G35 ? Same sweet motor, rear wheel dr...

I had all those things wrong and more when I got my car. Just doing a standard "tune-up", plugs, wires, filters, checking and cleaning all grounds, made it run nearly perfectly. The eventual replacement of my alternator and it runs totally perfectly. My wheel shake was bent wheels. As I've...

you normally can't be cited for speeding on a ramp, as the speed is a suggestion rather than the actual speed limit. the ticket seems like crap

you may beat the ticket but you'll still be on the hook for the property damage, oil or no oil.

yeah, just run the 4, 3/8" runs far enough to access space to fit the transition to 2 tubes it would probably be better to use metal pipe fittings to make the manifold for the split, less chance of leaks. 5/8" stuff is much less common, things usually skip from 1/2" right up to 3/4&qu...

how about flipping the right side radiator around 180 degrees, and taking both 3/8" tubes out of the area to the driver's side, where you can hook both to the 5/8" tube. that would eliminate the single 3/8" runs, as well as the 3/8" tees which are killing you on each run you can ...

If the body is truly rough I would not consider that a god deal

You may be able to find similar pricing with a much better body, and a few niggling mechanical problems that are easy to fix

I did some matchbook calculations to see what that means: specific heat air : 1000 J / kg C specific heat water : 4186 J / kg C air flow 250 CFM = 7.6 kg/min air delta T = 75C air desired energy loss = 57000 J/ min. water flow 4 gal/min = 30 lb/min = 14 kg / min increase in water T with perfect heat...

I think that fan in the front just blows air through the electric bits to make sure they don't overheat. It looks like the air might also cool something that is not shown in the photo. electric motors like an air stream because it blows away the little bits of carbon brushes and such that tend to bu...

I supose it is possible that an accident resulted in a bent hub assembly, or a bent bracket. It is also possible that your top slider pin is bent, but I would think the bottom pin would thread in only with difficulty if that were the case. I'd try swapping the bracket for the 5 minute solution, a hi...

my 184,000 mile 5MT has no synchro problems whatsoever

The 4EATS seem like a car-killing grenade that goes off sometime over 125,000 miles and there is nothing you can do about it. I would have a Touring Wagon already if they came with 5MT's.

you know where my vote lies.

Glad it worked out. Considering stuck fasteners and such, you total time really isn't that bad.

I once spent 2.5 days on and off getting a wheel bearing out of the back of a 325is BMW. I would take the control arm off in a hearbeat if I ever do that again.

Finally got it all squared away with an additional 4-wheel bleed, this time with my 7-year-old at the helm The WRX bleeders just plain suck. They are smaller than the stock legacy bleeders both in thread size and wrench size. The threads fit loosely so throw away the vacuum bleeders, they won't work...

I would remove the steering knuckle from the car completely and bring it into a mechanic and throw yourself on the mercy of the court, to have the bearing removed and pressed in If your balljoint has a hole in the boot I would replace it, although in theory you can get a new boot only. the new ballj...

pretty cool. I like the methodical approach clearly parallel will be the way to go. one way to think of parallel is that the water will be slightly less cool at times, but probably much cooler under sustained load, as flow in series probably won't be enough to keep the IC core from heat soaking IU w...

if you are concerned with gas mileage, don't get a turbo for closer to the 5k price point you could probably get a '96-97 legacy or outback which has far superior comfort and ride to the 90-94 legacy, and a better interior to be sure I personally like the style of the 90-94 but they rust pretty good...

Few builders can match factory assembly of a block. And, torque is nice in all amounts

so my vote goes for the stock block, which is about to get so much more common in case you blow one up (as those WRX young'uns begin to wreck the '06's)

For those contemplating doing this, I found the sandpaper to be completely unecessary. I just used a power buffer with medium and then fine compounds and did two sets in about 30 minutes. One of the sets was the worst yellowing I've ever seen, and it came off completely with just the buffer

paint the stock one black if it isn't already. Krylon semi-flat black looks great.
