Identifix often gets calls from techs stumped on a nostart with supposedly all the magic ingredients: Spark, fuel, and compression at 110 psi.The problem is a skipped belt. A properly timed car will typically crank out 175 psi.Two teeth off will drop it to around 110 and the engine won’t start. You ...

You probably could talk the folks at http://www.xcceleration.com/engine-pack ... gines.html into converting your block.

Thanks for the clarification regarding the phase 1 and 2 block and transmission compatibility.

I know the Ej22 heads aren't the greatest, but it's what I have and I was just wondering.

Holy shit. One way? That's something I wouldn't do.
Eh. Just a drop in the bucket.

I think if it was engaged enough to stop things it wouldn't be able to turn even a 1/16th of a turn, probably a better place to start though and would be a lot easier than getting into the diff. It could be as simple as that.

Probably the bearing inside the right side of the differential. Maybe not, but that's my guess.

As a side benefit if you use a phase 2 block you can use an eight bolt transmission which supposedly reduces the chance of stripped gears, the revised thrust location and the large rod bearings. Hold the phone. You say can use the 8 bolt transmission, is it not required? Will the old style one fit ...

does it bind up when you turn sharply at low speeds, like at parking lot speed? Kinda feels like the brakes are being applied.

^+1 for what SC says. Maybe it could be set up so new members can only post after they use the search function at least once. That wouldn't be so much to require IMHO.

Is that a Mo-Ped? I don't believe it is, but the engine does look real similar to the '68 Street 90 that I had when I was a kid. Loads of fun riding that thing around I had. It would do 85 or 90 mph and it had electric start.

Is that plumbed correctly? Do you have a front mount that it is hooked to? I don't know much about turbos but this looks really weird to me.

Parking Lot Fun

So, earlier today I went to the grocery store to get a few things. There were plenty of parking spaces to choose from, but this one was right up front and the car parked to the left of it was almost on the line. I didn’t feel well and didn’t feel like walking any further than necessary, so I parked ...

Just because it's coming along slowly doesn't mean it's a bad thing. I would suggest never to compare your progress to someone else's, unless you are getting paid for it. A guy could go nuts trying to keep up with Douglas Vincent

That's coming along nicely. I wish I would have taken pictures every time I'd done any major work to my car, but it never seems important when you gotta get the engine back together tonight or the clutch changed out today or the alternator rebuilt at lunch. It is good that you have the time to do it...
