Re: Leaterman tools

It's OK, I can laugh about it now. They finally answered the question in yet another e-mail stating that because the P4 is riveted together it can not be repaired and would be replaced with the PS4. I thanked them for finally providing a straightforward and honest answer. If only they would have sai...

Leatherman tools

Problems with Leatherman service. The following correspondence reveals to me a real problem with Leatherman product warranty. That said, I love their products and would encourage the use of them. However just don't expect to take advantage of any claimed warranty. This is all in reverse order, so it...

Re: overheating related to climate control adjustments?

That's better

But for sure you can bypass the core for testing purposes. You possibly will want to choose a time of year that is warmer, or, as in my case, it was necessary to just do it in the dead of winter. If that's how it has to be, then bundle up!

Actually, ryan mentioned something about keeping an open mind and not making fun of those who do.

That quote on my sig is confusing I'll see if I can clean it up.

Re: What is the best budget car?

Perhaps a mini truck would fit the bill. A good sized 4 cylinder with fuel injection yields good power and usually they get pretty good mileage, on the highway at least. Plenty of after market for dress up and other mods too.

Re: Cheap car alarm?

You could do like I did. I put up motion lights and in one of the sockets I put an adapter so I could plug in an extension cord. To that I plugged in a water valve out of a washing machine and adapted a hose and sprinkler to turn on with the light. I aimed the sprinkler strategically at the area tha...

Re: overheating related to climate control adjustments?

FWIW> I went through a similar ordeal with my '90. Replaced: the t'stat, water pump, all hoses, radiator, even the engine at one point. Turns out that my heater core had a pin hole, or some issue anyhow, with it and was causing over heating intermittently. However for the life of me, I can not figur...

ticking noise ?????

Every once in awhile when I'm getting into my car there is a strange mechanical ticking sound coming from the trunk area. Some times it starts to make the sound as I turn the key to unlock the door, other times it won't start until I sit down. It always lasts about 25 to 30 seconds. Not long enough ...

Vehicle Bolt Pattern Reference

I ran across this last night (insomnia might be good for something after all) and thought it could be handy when trying to figure out what other cars use the same wheel as ours. I used it to confirm that the Dodge Neon wheels I was looking at would indeed fit, I bought them today and they bolted on ...

Re: 4EAT not fully releasing

Tried installing a fuse in the FWD fuse holder, no change. Have not pulled the codes for the TCU, not sure how to get them. I have read that the AT Oil temp flashing 16 times is the duty C solenoid. As i stated before I knew I was going to have repair the clutch/solenoid issue.

Re: 4EAT not fully releasing

Thanks Eric. Curious how the transfer clutch problem could affect that. I have seen stranger things. I knew I was going in to repair the clutch/solenoid issue, I just wasn't sure if I had bigger things to worry about. I suppose I will go ahead and work on the transfer area and see what happens. Than...

4EAT not fully releasing

Hey guys, I’ve been having an issue with my ’96 wagon for awhile now and I would like to call on some of our resident automat transmission gurus for some advice. OK, say you drive to the store, pull into a spot and put it in park. Next you turn off the engine and you can feel the car (relax) slightl...
