Re: Twenty Years and More

I joined this forum only a couple months after its formation - I made my introductory post December of 2002, so I have been a member here 20 years and some change myself. My life is 100% different than it was when I joined; it's DEFINITELY a lot busier. But even though automotive forums have passed ...

Re: My JDM Legacy B4 RSK

I've got a few spare moments so I'll update this thread one last time... pretty hard to believe I'm 38 now and life is just getting too busy to devote to recreational online activity anymore. So I was starting to have a rather serious clunk whenever I would let off the throttle in gear, and while I ...

Well, then here's 6000!

Don't worry, I already fulfilled the stereotype, and parked the Citroën in front of a French café in Ybor City in Tampa and went inside and had a crepe!

So, job done

1993 Citroën XM

Hey all, I know this place is a graveyard lately, but I had a little time and figured I'd share pictures with the few who still come here on occasion of the latest addition to my automotive collection... a car I've dreamed about owning practically my whole life. I finally own a 1993 Citroën XM! http...

I'm gonna be the one to derail the conversation about Subarus and ask about that yellow M100 Lotus Elan in the background of one of those pictures ;-)

Re: 1993 Ford Spectron XL-T

Everyone give up? They're from a 1983 Ford Mustang! https://mustangattitude.com/mustang/1983/1983_00023_05.jpg These wheel covers only came on 1983 (and apparently very few 1984) Fox-body Mustangs, mostly the base models. I've managed to track down a complete set and I even bought the last brand-new...

Re: 1993 Ford Spectron XL-T

Well, since we're all stuck at home (I'm stuck home and laid off, no less :-() thanks to the corona virus, I figured I'd post a couple recent pics of the Spectron with the new wheels and wheel covers! It's shocking that it's been a year already since I got it. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/522...

Re: 1993 Ford Spectron XL-T

Honestly, in my experience, the two major things to watch for when shopping for 25-year Japanese imports are rust and previous accident damage/repair. It's surprisingly hard to find a JDM car that has not had at least one minor fender bender in its life. Other than that, it's up to your personal pre...

Re: 20 years of Legacy Central

I haven't owned a 1st-gen Legacy in some 7 or 8 years. I still own a Subaru, but as I get older and my responsibilities continue to grow, my spare time for leisurely online surfing continues to dwindle. Thus, my activity here has all but dropped off a cliff, and it appears the same has happened for ...

Re: My JDM Legacy B4 RSK

So, for the past few months, Okichi had been occasionally throwing a code for a knock sensor. That infuriated me to no end, because that is unequivocally the hardest sensor to replace on the entire car, if not any Subaru ever made. On a typical Phase II single-turbo Subaru EJ engine, the intake tube...

I actually only ran the car through two car washes on the trip. One on the south end of Georgia and one when I got to Nashville. So I apologize for shamelessly plugging my most current projects, but I'm involved in two new media outlets now, and I thought you all would enjoy them. My God, it's been nearly a year and a half since I've updated this thread. After replacing the timing belt, the clutch (same pull-style as an EJ205 WRX), the struts (using ZF Sachs struts for a USDM BE chassis Legacy; I will try to have Bilstein USA rebuild my originals), and the saga with the leaki...

Re: LSS Front Caliper Retrofit

I have to disagree with the notion that 17" tires are overpriced. As the industry standard wheel size gets bigger and bigger, the prices on tires come down. I can get a Nexen CP671 tire in a 205/55-16 (which is the stock 02-05 WRX tire size) for $77.99. If I get the exact same Nexen CP671 tire ...

Re: Subaru rear LSD types Discussion

The Datsun 510 guys are known to use Subaru LSDs as upgrades for their cars, since 510s also came with R160 differentials.

I found this thread in some of my research, and it's good for identifying certain types of Subaru LSDs:

Re: Rear differential nightmare

Thanks for the advice, guys. The grey, curing RTV? Or the blue RTV that doesn't cure and stays tacky? I think you all will have a better answer to this as well... I know this is probably being unreasonable, but I want to get new bearing races to press into the new retainers beforehand, to save me th...
