I'm not at all surprised that K&N did so poorly on filtering as it's been proven repeatedly in multiple tests that foam and paper outfilter cotton gauze (i.e. K&N) every time. Remember K&Ns are designed (and advertised) to flow more air than factory filters (which you can see by the resu...

don't have the part number on me (the hose is in the car), but it's a 1 7/8" radiator hose that has a 90 degree bend in it.
If you could get me that part number I'd really appreciate it, so I can drop by after work today and pick one up.

On a related note, Jerry and Dale aren't having the greatest luck with getting the compressor outlet of the TD05H-16G to match up with the turbo to throttle body piping. Is this not as "bolt-up" as I previously thought? (Jerry was well aware of the coolant line change that is required, but...

Well it's still in the shop at the moment. The good news is that the flex plate wasn't cracked after all. The bad news is that apparently the torque converter got swapped for a non-turbo version at some point in the past and needs replaced, the turbo is seized (which definitely explains why it felt ...

My 99RS put down 137.9hp on a Mustang AWD Dyno with similar mods (worked out to about 192hp and 204lb-ft to the flywheel when calculated as conservatively as possible and over 200hp when calculated more loosely). My "power" mods are: Cobb spicy cams Borla headers Brullen 2.25" catback...

The flexplate is like a circular bracket that connects the torque converter to the engine. It sits where the flywheel would in a manual tranny car (and bolts to the engine in the same way). I'm not actually sure if this is what is wrong with the car or not, though. The guy I bought it from said his ...

I was quite happy with the results when I upgraded the front bar on my 2.5RS. Yes, it does increase steady state understeer, but a stiffer front bar also improves turn-in and tends to reduce body roll more than a rear bar (partly because more weight is in the front). Also, due to the reduction in bo...

Re: My newly acquired 1991 Legacy Turbo

Sounds like a good reason to do a 5MT swap to me  The thought has definitely crossed my mind. Is there a thread on here detailing the parts needed for the swap? (I'd search but I've been searching for a ton of stuff since I registered here and the search engine is really starting to annoy ...

They have tons of DIY projects and while most of the best tech articles require subscription it is definite...

My newly acquired 1991 Legacy Turbo

I bought this car over the weekend. It is in amazingly good shape (interior is in great condition and the exterior has only a few notable issues and pretty much everything works) and was ridiculously cheap ($750  ). I'm not driving it yet as it has a problem with the drivetrain (current suspe...
