We've been running the new setup for a few weeks now. It went 11.4 at 121 mph on low boost with no intercooler. Since then I have the engine pretty well broken in, we've put an intercooler on. The rear diff blew and we put sti rear diff, axles, hubs/knuckles, and brakes on it. Here's a video from ou...

I'm glad you're having fun with it.

It's pretty quick and the tune is SUPER conservative in boost as you requested so if you decide you want more power I can easily add it. :)

I may be there if our car is ready. We got the engine parts from the machine shop monday and have to rewire the car for the STi engine, plus finish the cage etc. so who knows if we'll get it done.

I'm using a WRX rear end with legacy turbo 3.9 ring/pinion and back plate (so we know it's 3.9) with WRX rear axles, sti driveshaft, sti tranny, sti stub shafts (front) with some other circlips, and legacy turbo front axles.

This combo works well for anyone putting an STi trans. in a legacy SS.

My race car will have a front mount and water/meth shortly, but I'm going for 600 hp this time. I still have 5 LSS's BTW ;) I'd stick with the FMIC on the car that has it, but go with meth instead of the TMIC on the other. You have the data to show the meth does more cooling than the top mount. The ...

Yup. It took a lot of hard work and dedication but I finally killed it. It probably would have lasted a long time at 30psi which blows my mind. Just think what it could take with forged pistons/rods.

It's been a while but I just looked at the logs...I hit 40 psi of boost on the run that killed it. :)

The rest of the day it was around 30 psi.

I'm putting an STi engine and trans. in so I haven't been updating this. I still drive my other legacy SS daily. :)

I thought you guys would like to know that Nico is running an Autronic standalone on his car using the plug and play box he got from us. My Autronic is the wire in unit, but there's a plug and play option available too now that we know it works for sure.

What does it need to pass inspection?
Does everything work properly? (tranny aside)
Does the sunroof leak?
When was the timing belt last replaced?
No trouble lights? (CEL , ABS , Air Bag, etc.)

Is it drivable with the tranny acting up? What is it doing?

Thanks,
Mike

The autronic MAP sensor is on the board. You just run a vacuum line to the box.

Maybe Nico is saying when he removed the MAF he lost the stock IAT sensor because it's part of the MAF, so he is using the one that comes with the Autronic instead.

Hey man nice meeting you too. Your impreza looks awesome. I was planning to leave mine stock appearing, but yours looks so badass I might have to get a new bumper and whatnot. Hey man sorry we've been missing each other. I'm in and out tuning 2-3 cars a day this time of year. Re: Project update...GT35R, new chassis etc.

It was smoking all 4 tires on the straights. ... Then I took 4 drag passes and finally spun a bearing on this engine. ... Not to mention I was banging limiter at 7600 rpm all day on a 15 year old stock engine I've been wailing on for the last year. ... we just wanted to get the new car out and test...

Project update...GT35R, new chassis etc.

Well after I saw how well my legacy ran at 28 psi on the FP Green I decided we'd put a GT35R on it. We used an Ultimate Racing kit and reworked the downpipe, intake, and charge pipe to fit the Legacy SS engine and chassis. I used modded STi injectors with NA rails and no other fuel mods besides the ...

I used the universal SM4 rather than getting a plug and play box for the wrong car and adapting it. If you have to rewire it anyways you might as well just start with a flying lead harness, be done with the entire stock harness, and keep it simple. The universal box has a few more features as compar...

impossible to say really...

It should last a long time since a 16g at 9 psi will barely make more power than the stock turbo. Maybe 20hp with all other things equal. The 16g won't really come to life until you run more boost.

BTW, InnovativeTuning, what all did they need to make it plug-n-play that they didn't have? I think they just had some of the pinning wrong in their harness. How much is Autronic? I asked and never got an answer, and none of the people that carry Autronic have any prices listed. Before Element Tuning existed I got a Hydra EMS "plug and play" for my legacy SS rally car from Hydra directly. It turned out it wasn't plug and play but Andrew still has some of the info I figured out years ago about why it didn't work. He was great about everything and took it back at no...
