I fashioned a water spray kit yesterday. got a sprayer from a fiero. nice wide spray pattern. hooked it up with an inline pump that I screwed into the top of the washer reservoir. I have a push button on my dash that controlls it. I actually think it does some good!

Josh - I can look for one too. I'll give you a shout next time I'm going ot head down toi the pick-apart and see if you still need one.

My engine doesn't burn a drop. it doesn't "leak oil" per se at all either.

HOWEVER it DOES secreat a special "anti-corrosion compound" which coats the underside of the engine to prevent oxidation of the engine components :D .

I used a check valve as a FCD and ran her up to a bar of boost. :D . very quick. the timing felt like it was off a little, but it was still very quick indeed.

and hte whole "wicked loud" thing is quite nice. it's just my passengers that don't find it as enjoyable :D.

IggDawg is (inter)cool. 900 setup.

my attempts to sell the IC failed. which is alright cause I got motivated to get it to fit onto my car :D. I put together the turbo-ic hose with some intercooler piping bits off a saab 9000. they have tons of aluminum piping and rubber adapters, and I was able to fashion my setup out of the all the ...

You may need to trim about a eighth inch off the part going into the TB,
I got away with only doing that. I trimmed off a little more to make the change in width less sudden.

see the my post in theis forum for the rest of how I did it.

sounds exactly like fuel cut. where's your gauge tapped? depending on the location of the tap for the boost gauge, you might be seeing something different than the MAP is seeing. and yeah, gauges aren't always right on. mine's about .05 MPa off  . and that's genuine subaru parts (wrx boost gauge)

check your coilpack for cracks. if the problem ges worse when it's humid, it could very well be the coilpack. unbolt it fromthe intake manifold and inspect the underside and around the base for any cracking.

I'm going to second the comment about replacing your bosch plugs with NGKs. I had bosch plugs in my legacy, and my engine was misfiring itself to death. I was thinking of all the huge issues that could be cuaseing the weird hesitation. I swaped out the plugs and the problems vanished instantly. I've...

Yeah, I'd love to give this a shot so long as I could still get readings from the sensor. I have the sensor's green wire tapped at jsut after the first connector upstream. is there another connector I can disconnect?

as much as I hate to say it, the best way to inspire yourself to make the engine look as new as possible would be to put it in a newer chassis. you could toss it into a later model GC impreza, or even a newer legacy. cars with blown motors are cheap. just swap it out. having a nice shiny new chassis...

4000 RPMs = magic?

Maybe it's just me, but my engine seems to have a huge power step at 4000 RPMs. It's like I have VTEC or some crap. what up with that shiznit? 4000 doesn't seem to be around any of the power/torque/boost peaks. so what's up with the sudden surge at 4K? am I the only one with this?

I've been through this whole grounding deal quite a bit back on NASIOC.com . it does help, generally. reason being it helps the sensors to "see" better if there's a clear ground voltage to reference against. otherwise there are several transitions the charge has to see thorugh, meaning the...

The first hangar upstream of hte muffler will not fit from a WRX system. you can sawzall it off and forget about it, try to twist it 180* (that's how far off it is), or cut it and weld it on 180* from it's starting position. Fitting the muffler hangers is a little tough but not at all insurmountable...

I'm pretty sure they were coupled with a TD05-16G, so they are meant to flow pretty well. they're on the smaller side, but they'll fit perfectly.
