Most of the work was done on the valve seat to bowl transition. I took down the valve guides and cleaned up some casting flaws. Pretty much left the bowl alone. I've learned the hard way to be causios without a flow bench and spare heads. If I had time I'd flow this. I don't have a rig for a subaru ...

my new engine

Well, the new build for my scoobie is finally on the way back to togetherness. Machine shop just delivered the heads and block today. I ported the heads out so I needed a valve job done, plus I had them take 0.015" off the deck to get the compression I needed. The block was just honed because i...

it would work, but it's a poor design. One bennifit with an AWIC having an eletric pump is that you can run it when then engien is off, preventing heat soak. The engine waterpump will want to move more wanter than you need and will take more power to run. There are lots of cars that came with eletri...

I have a shortblock here. I can pull the crank and make sure it's good. Think we pulled the engine for bad compression.

Make an offer.

the ECU has a seperate power supply for the MAF? I know it does for the TPS sensor. If that's fried than it could see 0v on the signal wire and think the throttle is wide open, which would turn off the injectors under startup.

either way, it does sound like your ECU is fried.

huh? that's about the only thing that sucks about a blower, if you want more boost, you need to get/make a new pully. Not nearly as cheap/easy as giving a twist to your MBC.

that's the only reason why the Jag is still running stock boost. :(

it's easy enough to replace. New they are probably rediculously expensive. I don't know if you can buy used ones in your state (some States prohibit the sale of used catylitic converters) If you can, you might want to go that rought, or find someone who's parting a car out and get it used from them.

EJ18 is definitely not a stepper motor. It's a solenoid valve and it's on the throttle Body. It's a 3 wire one too. I know there are a few different IACs, the biggest difference between the 2 and 3 wire types. I'm assuming it would work since they are both 3 wires, not 100% sure what's different eng...

ahh... you need the whole thing. The mount that the tensioner uses to mount to the block needs to go with the tensioner. If you swap both parts it works. I'll see if I can snap a shot of the part thats missing in your photos.

Yes, but in order to fit a Phase I vertical bracket you have to cut part of it off. The part that bolts to the middle bolt on the inner timing cover. huh? I have the new version on my engine, seemed to bolt up fine. The engine isn't totaly back together yet, but it seemed like it fit right in.... w...
