Turbo timers are totaly pointless. If you have a water cooled CHRA and run a modern good quality oil, especialy a modern synthetic, you'll never coke your turbo bearings. Turbo timers were needed in the days of weak oil and non cooled turbos. The only reason companies wtill sell them is because peop...

Honestly, you might be better off looking for a BG Legacy GT wagon. (96-99) They look cool, have all the options you want, are popular in 5 speeds, most have sunroofs and many have leather. Swaping in a turbo motor or adding a turbo to the motor isn't all that tough. Plus there's much more bolt on a...

no numbers that anyone is going to give you or any number you give him is going to help him port those heads any different. Knowing that a water passage is dangerously close might help, but that's it. Someone that's ported those heads before could maybe give some pointers, but by far and large, head...
my uncle is an HVAC engineer, he's designed a few buildings that heat and cool with geothermal power. Actually the town building in my town is geothermal heated/cooled. The initial cost is pretty high, but ongoing costs are almost nill (small amount of electricity to power the system). In the long r...

yup, coolant passeges don't line up. Use the EJ25 gaskets. Even with the thin SOHC gasket you'll loose compression with the EJ25 head swap. With the 2.2 gaskets you'll loose even more plus you'll have overheating problems because you don't get coolant to the head. People with EJ25 heads on EJ22T (cl...

I totaly agree with Gary's post. The way we will be forced to live in the future is off of renewable natural energy (solar, wind ext) and we should make a constant and countious effort to reach that goal. Unfortunatly that would require a rip and replace of most of the assets of the entire industria...

Don't hate on ethanol. It's actually a pretty decent fuel. It kinda sucks in regular cars designed for gasoline, but in an engine designed for ethanol it actually can burn more efficiently and can produce the same power and economy with less emissions than gasoline. Ethanol does contain less energy ...

STi cat back on a wagon, where is it short?
I know that the STi cat back on a wagon will be to short, but I'm not sure where. What I wanna know is that it will fit around the rear subframe and reach the end of the bumper. My downpipe and midpipe are totaly custom, so if I need to make up some length in the mid pipe like you guys with SS cars ...

I have that exact header. Seems like a pretty damn good piece for the money. It very well might end up cracking, but I'll weld it back up if it does. I'm in the process of modifying mine since my turbo is WAY to big to fit in the stock WRX turbo location, plus I have and external wastegate. So I was...

could be plugs, a bad injector is a likely culprit. Also make sure your engine isn't running a little to hot (clogged radiator, sticking thermostat). That can hurt things too. Your fan being on a lot leads me to think something along those lines. A NA Subaru should be able to run all day without nee...

they arn't filling the whole block, just about an inch at the top of it to stabilize the sleves. Kinda like this http://www.cgperformance.com/subaru_block.htm The water still flows and the cylinder is still cooled. Granted the hottest spot of the cylinder isn't but that's something you need to give ...
