No need to to tap for oil supply, there should be a plug at the back of the gallery (in the lower right of the photos below). But you will need a way to get the oil back to the pan. In the photos below i have taped the head in the stock return location and installed a sweep fitting from an aircraft ...

The only thing in the ignition system that has not been changed at least once is the harness in the car (and ECU). igniter, coil, wires and plugs have all been changed. Not all of these parts we new, the igniter and coil were swapped with know good unit from my wife’s ’97 OBS (my old parts run fine ...

Misfire from 2800 to 4200 RPM, ECU Problem?
This is a strange one that has been plaguing me for years. I’m get a misfire at heavy load on one or more cylinders as I come across about 2800 rpm thru 4200 rpm, above that it pulls strong and smooth to redline. It always seems to be there to some extent, sometimes barely there with just a slight p...

I have the EDM lights in my '91 SS, night and day difference to stock, get some if you can. Here a pic I took during install, EDM on the left with nice sharp upper cutoff rising to the right (JDM will rise to the left). Stock yellow blob on the right. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/All_talk/...

When you raise the compression the thermal efficiency goes down. When you raise the compression so much you have to back off the advance then the volumetric efficiency goes down. When you lessen the combustion chamber size you get less air/fuel mix in there. It's been proven to be best to have as l...

Here is my EJ25D heads tapped for oil and coolant. Coolant uses stock hardware, oil return is tapped (not pressed like stock) and uses and smooth sweep fitting from an aircraft vacuum system. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/All_talk/Subaru/P5191569.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/A...

Pre-facelift looks ten years older than it really is. And the chrome bites. The headlights suck. Turbos don't even get different grills. Post-facelift FTW! :P I love the chrome, it makes the car look classy and matches the side trim (which I like). Just replace the head lights with EDM's and you go...

Yes the technology is good, but their example is not a particularly cost effective model. Your comment about the hardwood and glass is mainly what I was getting at. I can see its merits and I definitely know that rework is the worst of the seven (or eight) deadly wastes. It all depends on applicati...

Welcome to modern manufacturing. Sure it’s all dressed up in hardwood and glass but the processes and technology they are using are the near future for assembly line manufacturing. Things like the moving line, cart of parts, computer control of parts/fasteners and already in uses by many companies W...

Equal length and larger diameter headers can make more peak power but the typically focus that power in a narrower band higher up in the RPM range. The stock design was not an accident and has some advantages for most street driven cars. It uses a very direct line to the turbo conserving heat, press...

I've done just about what you are planing for my wide band O2. Used a sheet metal plate painted black, then brushed it with steel wool to better match the plastic. I also flipped my 1/2 din pocket and mounted it where the ash tray was. It works fine there but I'm not sure I really like the look of i...

If you want to make it a little more visible you can move the radio down and put the gauge on top. Just be sure you can load a CD with the car in park, I know it will fit with the manual but not sure about the auto. Here's mine with the wide band down there (my boost gauge is built into the cluster)...

Cam Specs for '96 EJ25 ?
Anybody have the lift and timing data for the '96 EJ25 DOHC cams? These are the heads with the hydraulic buckets. I have a set of these and I think they will fit into the '98 shim over bucket heads i'm gonna use. Just wondering if the '96 cams would be any better than whats in the heads now. The '97...

I gasket matched the manifold and intake ports and smoothe...
