I'm running a max 27* advance on my rally car because I've got no way to check the knock with the Link ECU.

The only person that can make that decision is you.

If that is the only noise it's making then you *should* be ok. If you have doubts, drop the transmission and open it up and rebuild it.

Also these transmission DO NOT like to engage 1st gear if you are moving. It wears that synchro very fast ...

Sounds like a normal noisy 5MT transmission in a legacy to me.

Nothing to worry about - first gear is always noisy. it depends entirely on the pitch of the teeth that the gears were cut at, and AFAIK 1 and 2 are cut at a shallower pitch than 3, 4, and 5 are.

no clue what it weighs, but if I had to guess I hear most wagons are around 3100. The bumpers were 85 with covers or so? the interior, fuel tank, door cards and dash, well I imagine most everything else was between 200 and 300 pounds.

yeah this was gauge pressure but it was off my industrial air drier thing on my compressor.

FYI, one of mine was in the pan when I dropped the engine in about four years ago.

I found it in a box when digging through stuff tonight and decided to pressure test it. It opens at 60PSI.
