you wasted money because you bought a universal.
a direct fit would have been fine.
OEM or not direct fit > universal every time

Probably. That's part of the reason to use PAG oil which can be compatible with R12 oil and R134a oil. PAG oil is NOT compatible with R12. Esther oil is compatible with R12 and R134a yes it is. An AC drier is an AC drier....there is no R12 drier or R134a drier. You however can not (should not) use a drier that has been in one type of service and use it in another. EG reuse your drier that was used with R12 when you convert to R134a. where do you get this information from? we've done hundr...

the sensor itself is the same, but universal means you have to reuse the old connector and you are adding another point of failure into the equation. Plus you have to make sure you do wire it up right. many people don't.

such a blanket statement is hardly accurate.
There are quality parts out there that are not sold by Subaru. Unfortunately there are TONS of inferior parts out there and when someone is selling a car, that is typically what they buy.
Stick to quality parts and you'll be fine.

I've opened up my gas tank to get at the pump more times then I care to admit. None of the times have I really seen any "crap" in the bottom of the tank. Plus, the way the pump is situated, it's going to pull the crud up regardless of whether the tank is low or not, since the pump sock is...

Not a good thing to run your tank dry supposedly :? it's not good for a couple of reasons 1. the crap in gas settles to the bottom of the tank so that is what is left when you get down low (or something like that according to "conventional" wisdom) 2. if your fuel pump isn't immersed in g...

my .02 on pads
the Axxis Ultimate is a "Ceramic" pad. While different Ceramics from different companies have different characteristics, I have typically been happier with the stopping ability of a GOOD semi-metallic. The drawbacks of a Semi-met pad being dusting and noise on occasion.

window switch removal trick?

I'm trying to swap out my 94 master switch for a 93 master switch.
I just can't get the old one out.
there are some screws that are accessed from under the armrest, that I can't manage to get at with any of my screwdrivers.
any tips?

Re: balljoints and tie rods, what brands?

OK, this is for the '93 FWD beater/commuter wagon, which has destroyed balljoint boots and steering rack boots. The steering wheel has a lot of slop so the wheel bearings probably need to get done also. Damn steering wheel has about a 40 degree offset to being level with the car driving straight......

ok, stupid question.
where would a wheel w/o enough offset rub?
if the offset is to low I would think that it would only rub at the fenders.
