Topic: Head swap now my car will not start? New timing PICS HELP

There should be no problem with the gears, except that the driver intake cam must be the DOHC one (although we did a '96 DOHC swap into a 1.8L Impreza and it starts just fine). Retime it and see if it works. I remembered TIGHTENING the cam gears with the timing belt ON and it slipped a tooth or two ...

so with my setup, is it safe to run 12psi?

EJ22T
TD04 w/ WRX TMIC
STOCK Metal MAF
STOCK INJECTORS
WRX fuel pump

I have the black plastic MAF if that works. Will my injectors be maxing out at this 12psi with the WRX fuel pump?

It IMO is the better in reliability. I has a lot more parameters to run with for light throttle open loop situations. Then when you go WOT, that's where it's running with the set map that's tuned for it.

FS: '98 2.5L DOHC heads

Hello all! I had picked up these heads a while back. They are in good shape aside from the usual carbon buildup. These are off of a '98 2.5L motor. One of the heads I disassemble and started cleaning it. I have 99.9% of the carbon buildup off and it's in pretty shape. The only thing is it doesn't co...

Anyone volunteer? All I want to know, is if it'll PRIME the fuel pump. Because THEN that'll mean it's working.

Other than that I'll have to hunt down someone in my town so I can test the ECU out myself...... 3months w/o my car......

ECU TEST: I send you ECU to see if it works.

I NEED someone to be a canadate and plug my ECU into theirs to see if my ECU is dead. I plugged pretty much everything in my swap...but it won't fire. It cranks, but no spark. Sensors are working; ignitor, coilpack, crank sensor, cam sensor. The wires are getting correct resistance, and are not shor...

Troubleshooting: no ignition/spark

SO....here we have an EJ22T complete swap with harness and ECU.... Main relay turns on, but fuel pump relay doesn't. I'll just hardwire this or something or try to figure it out. SO,,,,,I'm not getting any ignition. I was thinking the possibility of the cam/crank sensor going bad. I took them off an...

I broke the plastic T-section where the crank breather connects to the left&right valve covers. SO I bought a 1/2" T-fitting from Mill's Fleet Farm, about $2.89-ish each, and 4' hose; 3/4" outside diameter, 1/2" inside diameter. I routed the driver side hose to the breather CLOSES...

I bought my 90* from NAPA. It's a radiator hose. I just asked them to give me a hose that'll fit my turbo, I gave them the TD04 turbo and they came back with a 90* that fit. I'll go get the part # here in a bit, it's still in the garage. haha I bought some T-fittings and 3/4" inside-diameter ho...

OKIES....new plans! WRX turbo and Intercooler will probably be going in. I will have to cutom up a 90* for the turbo inlet. The WRX turbo's wastegate is a 7lb wastegate, but boost creeps up to 13psi. NOW with a boost controller, I can set it to 7psi. A while back one of the local members set his to ...

so....I guess we'll find out when I put on the Turbo and TMIC. I believe the boost will taper down more with the 2.2L 22T compared to the 2.0L WRX when at higher revvs. I don't plan on running a manual boost controller at all...just run on the stock waste gate, unless I want to in the future, but i ...

So I was wondering.....I'm going to get a TDO4 WRX turbo shortly, but I wonder if I'll hit this fuel cut with the WRX turbo.....I'll be running the WRX TMIC as well. This is off of 02+ WRX.

So would I still be under Fuel Cut running a TDO4 WRX turbo?
