I have a 91 legacy with clean paperwork (title in hand) that im getting rid of. it was supposed to be a project car, but funds ran low and i couldn't follow through with it.

not to thread hijack, but i have a single din radio in my car w/ the din pocket, but after install, i've got a 1/2 din gap underneath- how do i cover this? is there a kit? im considering putting in a double din dvd rcvr w/ screen, so i'll still need to cover 1/2 din space... any ideas? thanks...

CAR: 91 Legacy L Wagon, 4wd, 5 spd

Susp parts:
V7 sti spec c Full takeoffs (fully assembled- struts/springs/tophats, even bolts)
92-94 rear top mounts from VRG3 (monroe brand)
92-94 rear top perches from blackbart

I should be all set right? Ill need to dissassemble ...

i understand, but ggb wagon sti susp is hard to come by... in your opinion, what's better, v7 sedan sti susp or gr2s/whitelines or agx/whitelines? are the gr2s close to sti level, or is that only the agx's?

the agx's will be more expensive, and they're only for 92-94s... which means i gotta get ...

I definitely think the v7 suspension is appropriate for a daily driver.

i had v7 sedan struts/springs on my 02 wrx, and it was a perfectly fine daily driver. when you put it on your heavier 91 ss, it should ride a bit better, i think. i really want to put some sti takeoffs on my car cause it'll be cheaper than getting kyb agx's and whitelines...

on my 05 sti, the ride got BETTER with pinks... the oem springs are 200/185 i think, and the jdm pinks are 257/217. the car lost the bounciness and just feels firmer. of course, i could use more firmness on the track/autox, but not bad at all for the investment...

so can i put 92-94 kyb agx's ...

you are right. the shop had some issues, becuase this was their first pre-98 RS car that they were working on. anyways, my wagon is a 91, and i understand that changes were made for 92-94 cars (to the bottom spring perches, correct?), but i'm trying to resolve the problem on my 91... i'm considering ...

yeah jeff @ chaste knows his stuff, but he's a little abrupt... wasnt as friendly as i'd like... while my car had already gone to garage tuning in laguna hills, ca, he offered to do a full wrx drivetrain swap (motor/trans/fuel tank etc) for $5000 incl labor... too bad i didnt have the cash ...

while my shop was swapping in a 99 rs 2.5 motor, i had them attempt to install a wrx strut/spring combo on my 91 Legacy L 4wd Wagon. I had wrx sedan AND wagon springs, and told them to fit whatever works better, but the wagon springs probably would be better...

i really like what you've done with your legacy, but i have a few questions:
(I've got a 91 legacy L wagon, 4wd)

1. so you used the stock sti struts/springs & tophats, or did you reuse the stock tophats?
2. the lateral links- you change both, or just the rear ones? which car are the lateral links ...

the swap is a 2.5 n/a (RS) motor from a 99 into my 91 legacy L wagon. it's using the 2.5 ecu from the RS, and the stock legacy transmission. he did use a 2.5 harness and wired that in to the ecu.
