Re: I think the site should revert back to the vintage look

I happen to like the new skin myself; certainly better than having use Stylish on Nabisco's ages old skin.

The first car I ever drove on a regular basis was my 1991 Legacy. It was a great car. Extremely reliable, reasonably fast, great traction, was like a tank. Now I have a 1995 SVX. It's a ton faster than the legacy, unbelievable traction, but something is always broken on it. Nothing major, just littl...

Could you just clamp off the oil line to the turbo and replace the plugs to drive it home? I'm running a turbo block N/A and I just put a small length of hose with a cap on the end for the line at the back of the head. It won't starve the engine of oil to do this. You could probably clamp a small v...

Broken down Touring wagon spotted

Perhaps someone here knows this person. I spotted a 92-94 Silver Turbo Legacy Wagon this morning at about 7:15am on Rt. 15 NB near Mechanicsburg, PA. Normally this wouldn't phase me except that the wagon was noticeably modded with a larger hoodscoop and 2005+ Impreza rims.

The 6MT transmission alone would probably cost more than 1k. The wiring to put it in is a big pain in the side as well. Might as well just go with the WRX 5MT. They're cheap and easy.

Two bags of tools
A milkcrate full of spare SVX parts
A Lowes ratchet set
A funnel
Two ice scrapers

All in the already small SVX trunk.

The wiring would probably be easier with an SVX engine because they came with OBDI wiring as in all 90-94 Legacy's. However, as was mentioned before, the SVX is a very long engine and putting it in the engine bay usually requires modification to relocate the radiator. Heck, the 3.3 barely fits in th...

Frankly, the argument of Global Climate Change is irrelevant. The fact is, we have the technology, the money, and the rationality to make less of an impact than we do now. Why in the world would one argue to NOT do that? It makes no sense. If we have the choice to do something better, why would you ...

So he bought a car, let you use it and when you leave him high and dry you expected a gift in return? My dad did that to me. He came to my job while I was at work and snaked the car. I bet the OP was put in similar circumstances. My parents are in the state of a messy divorce and my dad was being a...

Meh. The SVX takes 91+. I see no difference between 91 and 93-94. I haven't been daring enough to put 87 or 89 in it - some people have said that they can get away with putting 87 or 89 in with no ill effects. I'm skeptical.

Pfft, my SVX can get 27mpg highway and around 20 city. That's about the same as what my Legacy got (slightly lower), and that put me at 320 miles a tank with the N/A Legacy (low fuel light came on around 270-280).

My legacy had corrosion around the bracket - starter was just fine. I'd check the positive lead line going straight from the battery to the starter.

Yes, since your car is fuel-injected, it's really a waste of time and fuel to warm it up for any more than 30 seconds. I usually let my engine run for about 15 to 20 seconds when I start it up in the morning. That gives the oil enough time to work into the engine. However, do not, I repeat, do NOT ...
