Legacy rear diff internals in a WRX case...

Alright, have a bit of a 'situation.' A friend of mine has a WRX with a 3.9 STi 6mt. He needs a 3.9 rear. I have the stock rear diff out of my '92 SS. He would like to be able to use his thicker WRX axles though. My question is can the internals from a '92 SS rear diff be put inside the case of a WR...

Where should idle oil press be?

Wondering if my oil pressure is low at idle. What do some of you guys with oil pressure gauges see your values at when the car is idling? This is on a '92 SS.

What problems from wrong spark plug gap?

I may have made the gap on a set of spark plugs too close...what problems would that usually cause?

Here is mine, it'd be cool to see it in there. It shouldn't be too many KBs, but I'll double check.

Edit: I tried doing some editing, I have no idea how to make it 15 k.

I've heared that these cause the rear of the car to stick up (like a stink bug) a bit. Nonetheless, bump for a good deal.

WTB: Bypass Valve

preferred to have one from a Saab 5000, but a stock Legacy SS one will do.

A WRX is 137 lb ft (not sure if that is front, rear, or both), but I don't know if it is the same for the old Legacys.

The cars do not come with turbo timers stock. The after-off coolant flow is 'stock' in that it is designed into the system. It's not an additional part per se, just the way it is designed. I would typically try to set the timer to turn the car off about 5-15 seconds after the radiator fans go off. T...

I'm pretty sure you have it. The way the system is designed is to keep coolant moving for a bit when the car is turned off. I'm not quite sure how it does it, but I think it involves the natural build of pressure in specific areas along the coolant track that are hotter than others, thus moving the ...

Need help quick...The SS has an intermediate section (along the clutch hydro line, before it gets to the slave cylinder) that the WRX does not normally. It's attached to a fairly large rectangular bracket with rubber bushings. Do I need this piece or can I just remove it from the system?

I pryed out the old oil seals using one of the prongs of a box-end wrench. I pulled off the old soft rubber/circle spring with plyers so I could see what I was doing. Alright, another question. Do I put the axle stub circlips inside the stub's groove before putting them in the tranny or just kinda h...

I understand how the system is designed to keep coolant ciculating for a bit after shutting off the car. While it gives me some piece of mind, There are also other, more convenience related reasons I would like one. On a side note, I've got the tranny and rear diff/axles in. I'm waiting on some stub...

Iif I were just replacing a stock unit, I'd go with the composite. It will absorb less heat from the engine bay and will not corrode. In the case of moving the stock Legacy one to make room for an intercooler, I think I would want a metal one to prevent the nipples from breaking off.

I've been screwed on NASIOC before, but had good experiences many more times. The things I have learned: 1) Check their iTrader rating. It is a little # that appears next to their name in classified section threads. If they don't have a rating, I probably won't buy from them. 2) Use a credit card th...
