Re: Can 95-98 EJ22 heads work on 90-94?

Block off EGR with a homemade plate of steel or aluminum. Intake manifold will bolt up no problem. All 90-98 EJ22 heads have the same 41 cc chamber volume.

Re: need 4eat parts

I have my old 4.111 4eat out of my car and matching rear diff. It works fine, just wanted to go M/T. Tranny is from a 98 leggy sedan.

Pm me if you have questions. I am local-ish, so meet in the middle to save on shipping.

head choice

I think you should give the SOHC EJ25 heads a chance. They flow well, and are supported by a few cam companies. Plus, the bolt right up w/o having to worry about any cam gear shinanigins. Getting a better flowing head to begin with might be cheaper than porting your current heads, unless you choose ...

you only really need closed-deck blocks when your runnin' really high boost and agressive tuning. open-deck blocks run alot cooler than closed-deck blocks. and like what was said before, its the compression ratio that matters most.

ya man, check out ebay, i got my perrin lightweight pulley for $116 shipped. as far as that hybrid, find yourself a used EJ25 shortblock and throw the EJ22 heads on it instead, get your cams reground by delta cams, and have fun.........thats my plan, just waiting on gaskets and seals.

that is a very true statement, however, since your brake rotors are bigger they have some things going for them, 1, you dont have to brake as hard to stop at the same rate as without bigger brakes, and 2, the bigger rotors have more mass that takes longer to "heat soak" , when brake pads f...

if you use the phase I EJ25 block with phase II EJ22 heads and the new 4 layer headgasket you should be fine, and it will put you at around 10.8:1 CR, so you can run medium grade gas instead of premium, thats my plan at least. a factor that alot of people forget about is the fact that aluminum heads...

remember that antifreeze doesnt disperse heat better than water.....thats why you only use 25% antifreeze, 70% water and a bottle or two of that water wetter stuff that is red. try that, if you live in a colder climate, bump up the antifreeze a couple percentage points and call it done.

all you really need to do is swap the engine harness, you will have to take the intake off regardless, might want to do water and oil pump seals, i know wou will have to re-align the timing marks, and you should probably get a new timing belt while your at it. you can ditch the evap. emmiss. caniste...

well for starters sounds like you need a wiring digram and a wire harness and aobut 50 hours of your spare time to tear it apart and separate the stuff you dont need. but oyu will also need the clutch kit for a 2.5RS with a really good presure plate and a decent clutch. i dont know what the ratio fo...

Okay. A couple of things to clarify. If you go with a phase I Ej25 bottom end, you will be at around 10.8:1 CR. This is the only engine that I have built (a couple of them at this point) and have only done them with EJ22E phase I heads. I know a guy on NASIOC who did a phase II EJ25 bottom end with...

so youre saying that there would be no real threat of leaning out, with 50% more manifold pressure and air volume going into each cylinder? i find that hard to believe, but ive been told by a few people before that less than 7 psi would not cause TOO much more damage. what is the difference that mak...
