I've been fly fishing since 1972 or so, and it is just great. I now live in S. GA so most of my fly fishing is on the flats on the Gulf of Mexico, or on the flats of the Indian River in FL. Bass on a fly in local ponds are a real treat using a Dahlberg Diver--Largemouths really fight. On the salt fl...

Well, I'm an older guy, and a pretty good mechanic, but I still like to think that I am somewhat of a fun old fool to be around, what with enjoying a bit of whiskey and a cigar from time to time. I'm absolutely crazy about fly fishing, and I'm about to hit the San Juan, in NM, for some seriously lar...

don't need tints
Well, if you don't clear-coat the lenses after you sand and polish them, you will have to do it all over again in about a yr. Been there, done that.. I don't think this bbs is meant to be an advertising spot for window tinters, either. Good luck with your career, and I hope you will be careful on th...

front axles, again
I had my struts replaced a couple of weeks ago and now I have a vibration and what sounds like an axle knock, speed sensitive, which wasn't there before the swap. These axles have only about 30-40K miles on them, so I'm curious. Tires were balanced just a few months ago. Any chance the shop screwed ...

I'm probably the oldest old guy on this bbs, and I have nothing but respect and gratitude to all of the contributors for the helpful (and very entertaining) things I have learned here. My old wagon is the best ride I have ever owned and I hope to keep it running for another 150K miles. Thanks to you...

I finally took a look under the fender today. The installer told me that they had sprayed PB on everything when I took it back. Well, everything inside the car, so that it smelled for a few days. No sign of lube on the upper mount under the fender, so I shot some up there and around the bottom of th...

Driver's side wind noise factory bulletin
My dealer told me long ago that there was a Service Bulletin about the noise and I have searched for years to find it. Finally, I did. SB # 125692, dated 92/04/06. It says to install part # 62175AA000, a small spacer, inside the mirror gusset, between the bolt and gusset. Looks to me like a little w...

Help, please
I had my new GR-2's installed by a local shop, and the ride is much, much, improved. Except for the one thing, the R rear sounds like a creaking spring or something whenever I brake or accelerate or hit bumps. The shop looked at it again and said nothing is loose, though it sounds like it. Any advic...

new struts
I called a local tire shop, whose owner I know, and he quoted 6.6 hrs labor to install the four struts. Thanks to this bbs, I told him that you guys had told me that the job could be done in about 4 hrs. by owners in their own garages. He said that he would install the struts for 4 hrs. labor, and t...

new struts
I contacted the seller on ebay and he promised to get back to me with a price and I never heard from him again. I ordered the GR-2's from replacementshocks.com and they were here in just a few days. Great service at a good price; I'd recommend them. Now all I have to do is summon the mo to install t...

I bought the WM kit and I will rate it as an 8 out of 10. 10 to 12 minutes per lens for polishing, and a few minutes between clear coats on each made it a 2 hour job. My lenses are almost 17 yrs. old, but weren't in terrible shape. I was lazy and buffed them on the car with some thin cardboard maski...

Head light lenses
Thanks, Josh. I guess I will buff them out again w/the Walmart kit and then clear coat them. From reading the feedback on ebay for the "miracle cures" it doesn't look like there is one. These guys offer money-back warrantees, but charge a ton for shipping, which is where they make the mone...

Anyone tried the chemical/nonabrasive cures for headlights?
I hand polished my lenses about a year ago and got some improvement, but they are yellowing again. I have noticed a few companies on ebay and the web offering chemical solutions that supposedly offer non-abrasive miracle cures and I wonder if anyone has tried any of them, and if so, what the results...
