92 Legacy Bits

Hey Folks, Its been a while since I've been on here, and I've had to let my 92 Turbo go. All of the following is currently located in Hamilton, ON, but I'm willing to move it within a reasonable distance in Southern Ontario by car to save on shipping for the buyer. Otherwise, buyer covers all the co...

I would go with the standalone option, if you've got the money - then you can tune it for race gas, or whatever it is you'll be running. I was considering swapping intake manifold harnesses (changing any plugs that weren't the same) and adding any necessary wiring (boost controller, etc), so that th...

Are you referring to just left of that bolt head? If so, that's the front sway bar mount.

You mean the one up near the firewall, on top of the engine? If so, that should be kept full, and it shouldn't leak. If its the original one, its actually plastic, and breaks after years of being heat cycled. You can get a new one from the dealer, but you'd be better off finding / buying a metal one...

I'm thinking you would also be better off finding a 4.11 or 4.44 5 speed, instead of using the heavy 6 speed.

Yeah, I figured it was gone already, I was wondering if it was something you had bought somewhere.

I take what you said to mean you used a solid block of aluminum. Is that right? That's sweet!

I've seen 2 different R160 cases. A case that originally had an LSD has slightly more clearance on the driver's side (when installed in the car) than a case that didn't have an LSD. I don't remember if there's any way to tell them apart from the outside. We battled with this exact problem trying to ...

Unfortunately, I'm at the will of my friend, as I'm in a town with less than 1000 people, and over 8 hours from the nearest dealership. I was actually surprised when the auto parts place 30 minutes from here had an oil filter for a Subaru. Provided the fittings are the same (which I'm sure he checke...

I was in at the dealer and he said the rack from a 2.5 RS wouldn't work. I don't necessarily believe him though. I priced a dealer rack for my car and it was $1700 List. Can anyone confirm that a 2.5RS rack won't work? My car is currently undrivable and I have to have a rack shipped halfway across ...

Run the channels for cylinder 1 and 2 to the front half of the ignitor and coil, and run cylinders 3 and 4 to the other half. Stick diodes on the leads coming out of the ECU, to protect the drivers.

At least, that makes sense in my head.

I was thinking SPDT with a centre off position. The centre terminal would ground whichever relay(s) were necessary.

Why not just connect whichever set you want on whenever the switch is on to both sides of the switch? Then connect the other set of lights to the Both position you've selected.

Obviously using relays to actually turn the lights on.

I don't see a need for any diodes.

Is that just an overflow hose Josh? I would think a little piece of vacuum hose (maybe loosely ziptied so it points down) would be sufficient.

I routed my line back along the engine and back into that hardline. The other way I was leaking coolant out that hardline even though it didn't appear to be hooked up to anything. That's what I did with my WRX tank install also. I hadn't even thought about going directly to the water pump, but figu...
