Re: 6spd Swap Details Thread
I figured it out. I need two bolts and one is longer than the other. 800510060, 80210000. These bolts bolt the starter down and clamp the trans to the engine. These are two of the eight that bolt trans to engine.

Re: 6spd Swap Details Thread
Lower starter bolt. I have a 257 to put in my 94 ss with an 05 STi trans. Looking at the 257 block, the 6 spd flange, and comparing to my 2010 STi, it looks like won't have to drill and tap the trans, or drill lower bolt hole on starter out to 9/16. Correct?

Re: Where's the damn idle switch?
I adjusted my TPS on 91 SS last week. Did a real good job feeler gages at that upper screw with spring. All wrong. Looked at the picture and did it wrong. Sure is easy to get at there, though!
Ciper post showed me how. So obvious now, not sure why I did not see that first time.

That is why I asked about the spring behind the pedal being cammed over. What does this look like? What is the fix for it?

The pedal will not return to the top of the stroke, even if you pull on the pedal. It stops cold. Will have more to report tomorrow.

Re: Kleinkid's new powerplant
Installed refurbished slave and clutch master cylinders, braided stainless steel line, Speed bleeder on slave, deleted the damper. Bled and pedal still not right. Stuck down with a little play, 1 1/2". Tried unbolting the slave and placing higher than the cms, bleed some more. No real change. T...

Re: Kleinkid's new powerplant
The piston in the slave cylinder was stuck tight in its bore. Drilled a hole clear through it and pulled it out. Bore is fine. Rebuilt it with a repair kit 30622AA001. Will put a Speedbleeder on it, their part number SB7100S. From Josh, these numbers, Earls part numbers ordered from JEGS. Stainless ...

Black car runs really good, so have not put the 2.5L in. Thanks for reminding me. I have an off set reservoir to use on the 94, just need to find it. Also have a 06 tmic on shelf to use. I need to, and am, picking up my pace on these things, hopefully get more done!

Re: Kleinkid's new powerplant
Been way too long since I touched this blue SS, apparently. Went to start it up and move it a little the other day and the clutch pedal would not depress. Mike suggested bleeding, so did that. No change. Slave cyl. and or clutch master cyl. are probably crapped up tight inside from water in fluid ru...

Re: Outback Sport springs
I posed this question to one of my esteemed Subaru consultants, and it was calculated that these springs will lift .8" (eight tenths) over stock height. So around 2-2 1/2" lift for this car. Will be installing soon.

Outback Sport springs
Wonder what these will do to ride height on my 1991 Legacy SS? Changed top hats a long tome ago to accommodate Impreza springs. Currently on KYB AGX with Whiteline lowering sprigs.
Guessing the OBS springs would lift car higher than stock.

Re: vf-12 on my '91
Don't think oil flow was blocked, but, pulled the turbo this week and at least 1/8" shaft play, oily turbine end. Have a brand new vf-23 on hand, ported, coated, to use. Will need to plumb for front entry though. searching this forum for ideas, and have my Legacy Performance consultant, Mike Tr...
