The 3 banger doesn't count for me because it's not a Subaru engine (Suzuki) and the EG33 had a lot of reliability problems, from what I hear from SVX owners. Leaked oil, broke down more than your average Subaru engine.

Remember that the 95-99 Legacy models introduced the rear drum brakes to the Legacy for the first time Huh? I have 4 wheel disc. I don't think the Brightons even got drums. I believe only the Impreza got drum brakes. And Josh, your original assertion is correct: It was to be cheap. Because when the...

mmm, doesn't sound like mono at all. I'm guessing it's some obscure virus. I had something very similar to this a while ago, and it lingered quite a while. My parents suspected mono as well, but since my midsection wasn't in pain and I didn't feel terribly weak, I didn't think it was. And it wasn't.

How do you drive? What kind of miles?

It is a turbo, and they're not known for being particularly economical.

Just 40k period.

Of course, that's in pounds, not dollars. But the Impreza starts at a lot more than in the US too.

AFAIK, there aren't any "plain ole Turbo Wagons"

Just touring wagons.

Sorta like there's no plain old turbo sedans, just sport sedans.
