Re: AC compressor question

I might try again now I got a break in the clouds :D

The inside of my car got a wash too :D

So to get this right the low is going to show very high but the high should be increasing while charging from the low port, no?

My wrist is killing me.. it was a pain just to lift my hood :-(

Re: AC compressor question

I see movement I put in about 1 can

should I leave the can tap open when I charge the low? the only thing is it shoots the low pressure up really light like near 100 PSI and closing the tap the pressure seems to stay at that area.

Re: AC compressor question

Well I take it back.. I just disconnected everything to leave because it's storming out here and I get in the car and try the AC again and the compressor cuts in on it's own without needing to be jumped (I thought I left it in) and it was not.. however it's not really cooling still... txv is hissing...

Re: AC compressor question

So I decided to charge the low side with the car running.. got up to 40 psi.. nothing... 90 psi still no compressor turning on.. high side showed just a little reading yet when I jump it and...

Re: AC compressor question

I flushed the lines.. the evaporator took most of the fluid.. when I flushed a gob of brownish oil came out.. after I blew it out at 120 psi of air until I saw no more droplets blow out. poured a little under 3 oz in the larger pipe. Right now pulling a vacuum for 2 hours I hope.. They say it's goin...

Re: AC compressor question

Yep I will try to get started as soon as I get off work in the morning as we are going to have a storm later in the day.

I bet if I can hear the desiccant shaking in the dryer must mean it's hit the expansion valve, no?

Re: AC compressor question

The more I look it seems to be a bad expansion valve the system will not equalize with the engine off charging the high side as a liquid.

Re: AC compressor question

The Amount of oil and P.S.I.G should be located right on top of your air compressor pump?! if I could read it.. the more you clean it the more it starts to rub away and the oil amount would be just for the compressor. I still wonder if I should of added the full 114 mL to the evaporator on the low ...

Re: AC compressor question

I wonder if my expansion valve has died? A person on USMB said the valve might be stuck closed and that's why the system is not showing equal readings? maybe too much oil in the evaporator? I added 114 mL which is a little over 3.9 oz I poured it in the larger pipe also if you charge the low side th...

Re: AC compressor question

I just charged my car a week ago! you don't charge it with the car off and you use the low side! make sure you have complete vacuum turn the car on put the a/c to max and start filling the low side. I have a gauge set I used to evac the system and then tried using the gauges to charge the system! s...

Re: AC compressor question

Re: AC compressor question

Ok one question.. I pulled a vacuum and I added liquid refrigerant to the high side and in my service manual it says the low side should be around equal with the high when it's charged? But I still have a lot of refrigerant in my first can and it does not seem to be pulling anymore in? Meanwhile the...

Re: AC compressor question

I finally got it.. When I gave up last night I sprayed PB blaster on it.. Anyways all is back on and new o-rings.. the only issue where a poor connection was is the high side to the condenser I replaced it with the same size o-ring and it does not seem to mate right to it so I had to double up with ...

Re: AC compressor question

Yes, the nuts loosen counterclock-wise. Do you have two sets of wrenches or a channel locks to hold both sides of the disconnection point? I have a channel lock on the evaporator side and the wrench on the dyer side. it's not moving at all. When I turn it's gotta be near an effort of 30 Ft. lb I th...
