Thanks for the reply. The old one has a really bad dead spot and I really wouldn't know where to start to replace the contacts. I take it they are on the inside of the starter?

starter replacement

Hello once again guys...I have a quick question. Even though I've sold my Legacy, the new owner wants me to replace the starter for her. I looked at the Haynes manual and it says its held in by two bolts. My question is, do I need to get under the car to replace it or can I reach both bolts from the...

This car is still available. Make me an offer and we'll talk. I'll get pics and email them if necessary. This car needs to go and I don't want to junk it since it runs. It just passed smog yesterday. Sorry but the Alpine radio and optima red top battery are gone.

The fan works but yeah, I got screwed. Today it didn't go over half-way so I think I'll leave it as-is if no problems develop.

Thanks for the replies all. I think I will take a look at the GM forums to see if I can find some help. I really don't care for GM either but this hasn't been a bad car... It did have major tranny work before but luckily it was under warranty and there was the issue of the window coming off the trac...

I hope its nothing serious but I'm pissed because the van was perfectly fine before they touched it. I'm not saying they did something wrong but they had problems with it when I went to pick it up. What, if any, legal recourse would I have if it is found that they screwed up?

Well the price for the radiator is another $300 plus labor. I've been peeved all day about this. It was the same scenario as far as the t-stat goes...a $14 part but with a 2.5 hr install. I really feel like I shouldn't have touched the car but I was worried about something going wrong later.

Pontiac Montana problem

Hello all, I need your help once again. I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana minivan and after taking it in for maintenance, it runs hot. Here's what happened. I took it in for a major tune-up with included draining and refilling the cooling system. It never had a problem before this. So as I go to pick it...

Good luck with the swap. It looks like I'll get to know my dealership quite well because I took it in for some recall work today and as I'm driving home I noticed the engine light on. I'll be paying them a visit tomorrow.

Wow, you guys were right. I've visited some of the G35 boards to see what its like and I'm starting to see things like "this guy says his car is this...bs its an auto so it cant possibly make that power" and my car is better than yours." I can't believe some of the things I'm seeing. ...

Subyluvrr, I'm just trying to get rid of the car at this point. She's not pretty-looking but it runs well. I live in an apartment complex now so I can't really strip it down too much. Is my price too low? I wouldn't know what to ask for it.

Sorry, but I was being playful with the second post. Anyway, it is a dark red(not sure what its called) 91 LSi with grey leather interior. It is AWD with auto tranny. I don't have any pics right now but I'll try to post some in a bit. I'd like to get $700.

Anyone??? Come on it won't even cost 1K. It still runs pretty good but it could be an excellent parts car. Did I mention I'm in Vegas. Just imagine all the glitz and glamour and cheap...everything. :D

I was hoping I didn't run into the real immature types. I never liked people like that and since I've gotten older my patience won't even let me socialize with those types. I'll still visit here often.

Anyone want to buy my car?

I'm in Vegas so it would give you a reason to come here and gamble/check out the night life. Anyway, the car has 133K. I pulled the stereo thinking I was going to sell it but the deal fell through so the radio (Alpine WMA/MP3 player) will go with it. It is NOT installed at this time. The tires (Hank...

You know, even though I plan to get rid of my Suby, I'll definately keep checking this site just to see what's the latest and greatest. My only hope is to find a site for the G35 that have the same type of atmosphere that is here.

Well, the perspective owner backed out but I have another lined up and I did tell him about the site. This is one of the best forums in cyberspace because the people here (no matter the age) are quite mature compared to others I've been too.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Its been a while since I've been on this board but I just wanted to say goodbye and thanks to all the people who have helped me with advice on car issues that I've had in my short time being a member. It helped me get a greater understanding and appreciation for the Subaru Legacy. Now, the time has ...
