Na vs Turbo center diff pic

Basically all ej/eg auto transmission prior to 99 are the same unit with minor changes. One of which is regular and high torque units. The turbo and six cylinder models got a standard 4eat with thinner spacers in various places so an extra clutch disc could be fitted. Example image below. The one ex...

It's this http://www2.kartboy.com/x4/product.php?productid=16171&cat=260&page=1 without the body bushing plus the entire shift linkage including the new ujoint part that is stuck on your car. Look at this picture http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/us_g10/type_32/manipulation/manual_gear_...

Re: PNW: legacy dyno day!!!

I just did mine but they didn't have an rpm clamp for obd1 cars What the hell? Why not use an inductive signal from spark plug wire (high voltage) or a trigger wire to the coil? I had trouble with a smog test once so we peeled back the rubber cover on the wires to the coil and used that to get a st...

Re: coolant manifold crossover

I didn't see the original thread but can I assume you are putting a turbo ej22 into a brat and you want the temp gauge on the dash to work? My first suggestion is to see if the brat sensor can replace the single wire sensor already on your coolant pipe. The ej22 has two sensors for coolant temp - a ...

How weird. They should adjust themselves. My wild guess is metal shavings have made the lifters jam up.

Quoted for the truth.
I think the issue is that 02-03 WRX seats were Japanese versions and the later ones were fat ass american versions

You would probably want to get turbo pistons while you are at it but otherwise I say go for it. You would only have to add maybe 8 wires to the existing harness.

Can you take a picture of the area where it runs under the front differential? Some autos have the drain plug in the center and others have it on the side and I want to see if it interferes.

You didn't mention what you have done to the car. Is it still stock?
The BEST would be Defi. I doubt anyone could argue otherwise.

A cheap gauge if you are running stock setup

Re: Anybody have an ABS ring, spare they can sell me

In case anyone cares they are referred to as a Tone Ring and the wheel bearing has to be replaced if you want to remove this,,, unless you do what I did and cut it in half. I ran with a two piece tone ring for years without issue. Just make sure you cut it in a valley. I also found that non ABS hubs...

If you want I have a complete Kartboy short shifter from an RS which includes the hardened kartboy #12 and the ujoint. Basically everything in the picture except for number 4 and 17. These parts have about 8k miles on them and have been sitting outside attached to the transmission since a 6 speed sw...

Re: Turbo Water pump part numbers for both styles + outlet h

Those are pressures inside the transmission. The cooler line is a drain from the torque converter back to the pan. From what I know it is already after the high pressure area once it is inside of this line or we wouldn't be able to use regular hose and clamps. The only part of the torque converter t...

Re: Shifter linkage stuck.

Personally I think changing number 12 and number 4 make the least difference. The four number 11 are where you want to focus first.

Since you have this all together why not convert it to the new style shifter? Much more parts available and the bushing design is stronger.

Can you try your best to measure from the flange on each side to where they join? I'm curious how equal this design is (and might copy it)

Re: Shifter linkage stuck.

The Legacy shifter linkage is the weird type that comes apart right? Why not leave that portion alone and replace the bushings in place? It might help to put it in fifth, remove the shaft on the other end of the joint and then remove the transmission crossmember so everything drops down. (dont forge...

This got me thinking - If you use two different "temp range" pads on the braking forces would change non linearly during braking. What I'm trying to say is the brake balance would be ever changing. I know a few people running regular pads in the rear and super duper pads in the front. This...

I agree not to use water hoses for petroleum. It will make it soft and eventually it wont be able to hold together. You have probably seen how motor oil makes the rubber seals on the timing belt cover expand like crazy. To be nitpicky I dont think the pressure on the transmission cooling lines is hi...

When you ditch the ABS will you get some type of coupler for the lines to replace the pump unit or run new hard lines?
