3" downpipe require engine management?

Currently running 3" from the mid pipe back and wondering if I go with a 3" downpipe will I need engine management? I was also going to install a new header because I think my current one is bad. Running a td04, top mount intercooler and cone intake. Thank you for any information and opini...

Re: 02 tmic install

I am guessing you mean the dog bone/pitch stop mount? I just replace mine with a wrx dogbone :) it actually dips down a little bit and may give you the clearance you need. You have the stock y-pipe as well? Are you hooking it up to a vf-11 or td04? I was wondering myself if it was being hooked up to...

Re: 02 tmic install

That is awesome! So the cooler just dropped right in, or did you shave the connection to the intake manifold on the intercooler? The lip on your firewall was not a problem? I have an intercooler similar to yours and was thinking to try to see if it fit. My thought was that it would get more air flow...

Re: 02 top mount project

The outlet lip? Are you talking about the connection on the bottom of the intercooler that connects to the intake manifold? There isn't much of a lip there! If I cut it wouldn't that risk nothing to clamp down on and possible leak? Do you know if the stock y-pipe on those would make it over to the t...

Re: 02 top mount project

Ok, so I am just curious, if I have a td04 swap and a 02 tmic with stock y-pipe will it mate up to the td04 without modifying the y-pipe? Would the only thing that I have to "modify" be smashing in the part of the firewall that juts out? hehe. And it seems that the bpv on the 02-03 doesn't...

Re: NW (Oregon) tmic install

And......success! td04 and jdm slanty installed thanks to the help of another legacy central member :) Just a side note that the install is not for the faint hearted. I found out that my turbo was probably going out anyway because there were signs of oil in the turbo. There is a big difference from ...

Re: NW (Oregon) tmic install

I live in sw portland near raleigh hills. I just got a tdo04 and the guy threw in the 02-03 impreza intercooler with stock y-pipe. maybe I can swap the y-pipe over to the forester intercooler and it will match up? But yeah, I will still need an adaptor for the bpv and relocate the coolant fill tank.

Re: PDX legacy meet

i took some pictures. i will try to post them although i am in between computers right now. thanks again for everyone that showed up and i agree that it was a nice drive and that the group was able to stay together well. i think some of the other meets have inexperienced leaders that lead the drive.

Re: abs leak

an abs unit seems like it would be hard to find one that was in good working order since the n/a models were not equipped with abs as far as i know? so, what if i went to wrecking yard and got all n/a non abs lines, master cylinder and proportioning valve to replace the abs stuff? would i have less ...

Re: abs leak

yeah, i am pretty sure that it is on the actual unit itself. the connections to and from unit and lines seem sturdy so i am assuming that it has something to do with the unit itself. although i have not seen any leaking lately from the unit but i have only moved the car to work on it. this may help,...

abs leak

i just bought a 93 touring wagon that is an automatic and the abs leaks. if i pull the fuses (one in engine bay and one under dash) will that do anything? i have been reading about deleting the abs and it seems that if you have no experience with brake lines this may be difficult. i am unsure whethe...
