Found my own problem.

Voltage drop down the signal wire to the starter.

Could'nt be bothered to find the problem in the loom so I wired in a relay and all is well. 8)

However.....I have the long nose starter in a manual.....and it works

Help Just swapped a auto engine into a manual, and I wonder if I have managed to get the starters confused. Which way round is it? Short nose starter= Auto/MT Long nose starter=Auto/MT Thanks Problem is that the starter just clicks but only sometimes spins the engine. Have had the starter re-built, ...

I dont know for sure, but I would guess that the code was for the lamda sensor, when the exhause was changed. But that is only a guess, as it would come and go. But when it then stayed on prior to the engine change, all the time....No I did not pull the codes/code. Saying that it was still on full b...

Sorry prob not making myself clear. MT engine out Auto engine in Couldnt connect the auto engine to the car cos of the different connectors. MT inlet manifold off & harness removed Auto inlet manifold off & harness removed MT harness attached to auto inlet manifold & re fitted into car. ...

I swapped the engine harness of the auto over to my 5 speed, so that it would connect with the car loom.

I have also tried the autos ECU, but I am still getting CEL errors. Have just found out that the auto was a grey import. Ie it was a jap spec car.
