Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...On the Road Finally!
Emissions has been passed! Looks like cleaning up the wires to the ecu fixed the super rich issue. Still get a CEL randomly but getting somewhere. Spent Wednesday cleaning her for 7 hours. Every inch sitting for 6 years was covered in all kinds of stuff. Still not finished but it's getting better.

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...On the Road Finally!
I do get the CEL to flicker if I run it fairly hard to about 4k and get codes 24 and 45. Seems like pressure codes possibly boost too high? If I cruise slow through the gears light boost the flicker goes away. No fuel cut to 4k. I have not pushed it past that though.

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...On the Road Finally!
What has changed? Do you know your AFR's when the popping/hesitation occurs? I'm going to assume it's pretty rich. Hesitation and popping are gone. Just got the AFR and boost gauges installed. AFRs are: Idle-14.7 Cruising-14-15 On medium load 2000-4000 RPMs is drops to 13 stays steady. Heavier pull...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...On the Road Finally!
I have finally gotten to get her back on the road after sending her off to have the wiring fixed by a friend during the pandemic. I am not having the shutter or cut out issue like before, found it was the ECU causing it to cut out. Pulls nice and hard to 4k and has much more but I am going to play n...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...On the Road Finally!
Having all kinds of issues now. At quarter throttle the engine will cut out like a huge misfire and sometimes back fire really loud. Not the usual popping on decel but a bang like a gun shot. Hesitation is horrible

Yellow tops are matched to the tune. They have not been flow tested. Bought on here.

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...On the Road Finally!
Yes i have a Cat installed. My first thought was the injectors being yellow tops were grossly over fueling with my stock ecu but the rob tune didnt fix it. I know it was a guess anyway but worth a test

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
Took to get emissions after I installed the Rob Tune ECU hoping that the high HC and CO was due to the STI injectors dumping fuel with the stock ECU, but I still failed yet again. Could this be part of my issue at 3500 RPMs? I am going to try to change out the plugs and check the gap. I'll get my ga...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
Finally got her home and found my wiring issue. Found one pin into ecu that was losing contact over bumps causing serious hesitations. Now it pulls through all gears cleanly. One issue is that when I do a hard pull and get near 3500 rpms it cuts out and feels like fuel cut or boost cut. I just insta...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
Rob Tune ordered. Figured the 550s I am running are over fueling causing the high HC and CO.

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
Just tried to pass emissions and FAILED. First they wouldn't let me on the dyno due to my low profile tires so I had to swap with my 2.5RS to get them to let me on. Now I have failed for high HC and CO. We put a new cat in so that would pass but I get to chase more issues.

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
Took it out on a drive and had some serious whiplash hesitation at half throttle. Took the ecu down to check wires and it died so found it was a wiring issue somewhere. Decided to do the Rob ECU case mod so the ECU would actually mount and not just jammed under the dash. Also found some wiring issue...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
Questions I have these hoses unhooked because I either didn't know where to route them or have no place to route them with this intake and canister is broken on top. What have others done to remedy this? I can go get another canister and drill into the intake if I have too http://i97.photobucket.com...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!
First test drive it seems to pull much harder through 3000-4000 RPMs but not going to hit it much harder until I get some break in miles finally, gauges in, MBC installed. Hoping for Rob Tune soon now that I have most kinks figured out

While installing gauges I repaired the shielded knock sensor connector and CEL was not flashing at me on my quick test drive but I will do full test tomorrow.
