Do you recall what your AFRs were? Was it mapped by gas AFR or Lamda? Just curious.douglas vincent wrote:Well, after pulling the plugs and regapping them to .028, everything is dandy.

Re: E85 and 800cc injectors and 19 psi = .........
I was having some missing issues (we were pretty sure it wasnt det), and this could have been old sparkplugs. The AFR line was pretty damn ugly. "Safe" but ugly. You sure that the "safe" AFR was OK? Sounds like you may have been dumping fuel. What was the AFR when the missing wa...

Ok then. I need a seperate fuel management system. So then really this mod is all most useless... And seeing that i could get some sti injectors and run the same fuel management system and probably mod those injectors whats the point really!! Thanks for all your help people!! I wouldn't say it's &q...
Here's a reply to a PM that I responded to earlier. After all the typing, I figured that it might help if I posted it too. Reply - NP man. I've done this on two different motors/two different Subarus. What I did was have -4 braided lines made. One end is terminated with a 90* fitting which goes to t...

The turbo Trannys are built to a higher spec. than N/A. They have extra clutches in the Forward, High, and Transfer(4wd) clutch packs and The Servo Piston For the 2nd-4th band has a larger apply area for more force on the band. and there are some small differences in the Valve body calibration also...

1.) Oil feed - there's an oil feed location at the rear of the block before the bell housing (top and centered if you are standing over it). It is fitted with a threaded hex/allen key plug. You can buy one that's already drilled and tapped or do it yourself. Pretty easy but even easier to buy it pre...

Depending on the actual modded flow rate, I can't imagine the factory ECU controlling all that extra fuel with any authority. That's got to be 35-40% additional fueling from what the ECU expects. Even if the fuel trims could compensate in CL, which they most likely can't, the OL fueling would be hor...

Found another Scan Tool - HiDash
These guys post a lot on the OpenEcu forums. As far as I know they are a trusted source. Thought you guys might like to know about another scanner option. http://www.obdtool.org/hidash.htm $150 http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/5250/obdimagexz5.jpg http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/7184/obd1jv3.jpg ...

EvoScan - Subaru Select monitor
Most of you guys are probably not familiar with EvoScan. It's a popular tool for datalogging mostly EVOs but it apparently works on newer Subarus too although I've never used it for that. So why am I posting this here LOL? Well when I was looking to see if updates were available I noticed this: EvoS...

I don't think it's a vacuum leak due to everything being new, and the fact it idles fine. However I can't completely rule it out. I have to take the intake manifold off to drill and tap the IAT sensor, and will be putting in new injectors, so we'll see how things go after I've done that work. Cool....

MAF systems can be forgiving but are a PITA compared to a MAP set up. MAP is so stupid easy and you never run into problems like turbulent airflow around the sensor as can happen with MAF set ups. MAF setups from the factory have tons of man hours into housing design. The voltage vs airflow scaling ...

Small vac leak? I'm finishing up a tune right now on a Toyota and this thing decided to pop several vac leaks (high mileage with a turbo). Ran great at first and then slowly but surely several leaks popped up. They were identified by the 'ol starter fluid trick, i.e. spray starter fluid around the i...

Max boost is a little generic as it really comes down to airflow. Anyway, you only have a couple or so options with the factory ECU. Since you aren't able to easily log duty cycle (you could probably rig up a multimeter though) you would otherwise need to look for AFR feedback through a 5v wideband....

Your friend will pretty much need a piggyback at a minimum to get the job done. eManage, Perfect Power, etc etc will work. That or install a standalone. On the cheap, I've tuned a few MegaSquirts (standalone) now and it's too bad that there's not much (if any) support for Subarus. They have a low co...

140 is okay, but yeah, not spectacular. A properly-running 2.2 should be in the 170-180 range. Keep in mind it depends whose measuring stick that you use. Or rather, an expensive but accurate gauge versus a cheapo model from Pep Boys. The cheap gauges can be off considerably. I'd be more worried ab...
