Me too but don't bother with the ones at the auto parts store. I've tried those and they're too dim.

Re: DOHC timing belt install tips

Just get yourself a few of those black office clips and clamp the belt to the pulleys on the driver's side so it won't slip when you're putting it on. Pretty easy. The black metal clips with the chrome arms.

Re: Jonah's 1993 Subaru legacy LSI

Fun stuff. This is kind of a unique swap. I haven't seen a Forester swap into a 1st Gen yet.

I second the clutch damper delete. On my SS, I just removed the damper and ran an SS braided hose in its place.

Re: 20 years of Legacy Central

Amazing that it has been this long. I've been here over a decade. With the invention of Facebook and groups being created like the 1st Gen/2nd gen legacy group and many other Subaru groups and my phone over taking the roll of my PC, I have been pretty absent. Recently I've started checking back in. ...

Re: How-To: Convert To GD WRX Coil On Plug w/EJ20G ECU

Did you figure it out? A few people have gotten confused on the wiring of the coils. They are numbered in firing order, not in order of cylinders. If you wired them thinking it was the cylinder number, your timing will be completely wrong. Double check your wiring. Pin 10 = Cyl 1 Pin 9 = Cyl 3 Pin 8...

Re: Nico's ej swapped GL10

Oooh! He's got the Mann Hummel air oil separator. I've got one also but I haven't installed it. Got it for my Silverado because it has a lot of blow by but I'm selling it so it might go on the Subaru some day or the metro more likely.

I need to contact Nico and ask him how he plumbed it in.

Bruh. Those look like my pictures. Lol get yourself a newer shift linkage and swap it out like Mike says. I did this as well. Used a kartboy Wrx shortshifter that fit the new linkage. All new bushings including that joint coupler part above. Feels awesome.

Re: ESL Board for USDM 1st Gen Turbo Legacies

I'm guilty of deleting ABS myself. I don't know that I would recommend it but it failed to work at all in the snow (perhaps it's not meant to work in snow/ice?) and I got mad and got rid of it. People had harsh opinions on this but there's tons of cars without ABS so I'm no worse off now than they a...

Re: Single Diaphragm Brake Booster Upgrade Write-Up

I think the stainless brake lines thing is a myth/placebo/marketing gimmick. I upgraded mine and felt no difference. ABS probably makes no difference in pedal travel or effort until it actually sees wheel stoppage and engages. Pads made a huge difference in performance for me but pedal travel, no di...

Re: Single Diaphragm Brake Booster Upgrade Write-Up

My setup is 05 lgt calipers and stoptech slotted rotors with stoptech street pads all around. Stainless braided lines. No ABS with non-ABS brake master cylinder. The single diaphragm booster (of course) and a grimmspeed master cylinder brace.

Good advice. Forget about it for a while. Your desire to mess with it will return eventually. I'm so burnt out on working on my stupid metro lately. I don't have much choice, unfortunately. I have to drive the stupid thing to work.

Re: Single Diaphragm Brake Booster Upgrade Write-Up

Kimo, I forgot to mention this earlier, but if you are running the stock brake lines it may be more difficult to remove the clutch master cylinder. I believe on the 91 MY's it was a hard line from the clutch MC. I'm sure you can move things a little bit like you can on the brake lines but it may no...

Re: Single Diaphragm Brake Booster Upgrade Write-Up

In my case, it doesn't seem like there is as much clamping force on the pedals, but I could also have an issue somewhere else. I'm having to push too hard to really get some stopping power. I had planned to swap the boosters out before I had my engine issue. What pads are you using? Maybe the pads ...

Thanks Josh. That's good to know. Wish I would've taken more pictures and done a more step-by-step write-up but my main concern at the time was getting the car back on the road for the Subaru show last summer.
