Re: WTB: FWD 5mt

Hmm.... You're in Buffalo, I see. That's only a 3 hour drive from my house. A three hourr tourrr
And yes, Front Wheel Drive.
How about I come get it? Any idea how many miles are on it and what it came out of?

WTB: FWD 5mt

I need a FWD 5MT Trans for my 1994 Legacy.
The lower the ratio, the better, as I do 500mi/wk.

I can pick up anywhere within a 50mi radius of Central Mass! 01440 to be exact.
Bonus points if you have a good Left Front caliper hanging around that I can snag!

Re: mud flaps

I've got a couple good used sets IIRC. Should clean up very good.

I used RallyArmor flaps on my winter car meant for a bugeye WRX. They fit very well.

That is the problem with "reworked" injectors, you hardly ever get the flow they advertise. Who modified the injectors? Regardless of that, I'd send them to RC and have them cleaned and flow tested, then you know exactly what you're looking at. From there, you can make your decision on wha...

Fair enough. Thank you Ciper. I will order some rod bearings for the EJ25 and a pair of headgaskets. Does my EJ22 qualify as an "early" one? I don't know the difference to be honest.

Thanks for all the input thus far, VERY helpful!

Scotty: That's what I LOVE about these cars! kimokalihi: Thanks. Gotta burn that in my head somehow. lol ciper: Thanks again! I'll get my cams out to Delta and get this build underway. This is going to be all stock stuff, and the cams are going to be my only cost from the looks of it. I'll probably...

Thank you ciper! Yes, I do insist on being slow. LOL! Not necessarily so, but moreso from a reliability standpoint. This engine was original to the car @213,000mi, was beat DAILY and only died due to my own stupidity. I have a Phase I EJ25 sitting on the floor of my garage with bad headgaskets, but ...

Parts store stuff for Subaru's doesnt seem to work that well. I have had cars with misfires horribly, take out the plugs and gap them, no change. Switch over to champions or NGK's and car runs perfect. I'm sorry, but this has me stumped. What plugs could you be using? AutoZone Branded Plugs? NGK's ...

The cog-idler blew up on my white legacy last fall. The belt didn't jump, but it was real close!

Wish I could have gotten one of those kits when I did mine, didn't pay much more than that, but every bit counts!

WTB: EJ22 Dual Port in MA/NH/RI

Need one cheap for my 94.
Will take auto/5spd engine, could use the EGR and plumbing for the GF's car so Auto may be a plus.

LMK! I can pick up no problem!

EJ22E Refresh Questions

So, long story short, ended up messing around in a parking lot last snowstorm with only 2 quarts in the pan :x Light rod knock has turned into moderate and I need to get this thing fixed as I drive almost 100mi/day and I can tell it's getting worse. I want to refresh and re-ring a spare block I have...

94turbowagon & evolutionmovement, I really appreciate the honest answers, and I agree, but it pains me to let it go for under $3k as it's been such a good car to me and really gets me compliments all over the place. John1 - the car is AWD, which makes it worse for me as I only drive it in the su...

Excellent question: These do not include the hardware, nor do any set of shoes. If someone needs the hardware, the price is a little steep as it includes everything, but I can get it for $35 as well. I'm not sure why the parking brake shoes from any newer Subaru wouldnt work, feel free to find out a...

Parking Brake Shoes

To anyone that needs them, I can get them! They are Centric Brake Parts, and the Part number is 111.07940, they have a list price of $52.00, and is possible that the part number can be crossed with a local parts store if you want to try. If anybody needs them but can't source them locally, email me:...

Thanks for being my usual voice of reason, Aaron.

I just paid $22 for the set of 4. :D
