Re: Twenty Years and More

I want to echo the same feelings as above! I bought my 1992 Sport Sedan in autumn of 2006 and joined Legacy central shortly after. I was in college, it was the first car I ever purchased and this was the first forum I really interacted with. I took a journey from having never turned a wrench to doin...

Re: FS: 1993 Legacy SS 5MT 550 RobTune - Clean!

SOLD to another board member in Canada.

Once again need to say big thanks to all the members of this board for investing in each other by sharing so much information.

Also, huge props to Josh who personally helped me get this car home and running right.

Cheers!

Re: FS: 1993 Legacy SS 5MT 550 RobTune - Clean!

Edit/update: 1) Alignment is done and steering is neutral now. 2) CV axle is regreased & resealed 3) I had a random CEL for "Air Valve", code 24 - looks like it was a loose ground 4) I've had some mild interest, but Canadian location adds difficulty for most board members. I am going t...

FS: 1993 Legacy SS 5MT 550 RobTune - Clean!

I am selling my Legacy because I will no longer have room in the garage for it. I am getting married in August and I am choosing my WRX instead of the Legacy. It's sad I know, but I will be happy if another enthusiast gets it. http://qrgarage.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/BC6-2.jpg The above picture...

Re: Adapting an EJ20G ECU

Are there any issues w/your car related to the trans swap? If the car ran fine on the stock ECU after the swap, the EJ20G shouldn't matter, as long as the EJ20G-specific wiring is addressed. TD No, the trans swap is complete with no issues. The thing is that I never really ran it on the stock ECU, ...

Re: F-N code 45

Thanks Rob, we appreciate your continued support. In that swap thread, you discuss a MT/AT identifier pin with Josh. I'm curious if they will apply to my ecu/harness since I have a manual transmission in a car that was auto from the factory. I asked the question in that thread for continuity. http:/...

Re: Adapting an EJ20G ECU

The MT harnesses should not have a wire there. If they do, I'm not sure where it would go. It should not be grounded though. It's an input to the ECU. Grounding that pin tells the ECU whether the trans in the car is MT or AT. The ECU will alter idle speeds/loads and timing to properly adjust idle. ...

Re: F-N code 45

Is the RobTune new to this car or it's been working fine and started throwing the code? If new, I apologize if this is 'old news' and you've been there/done that, but the RT requires this: Wiring .......the MAP sensor also needs addressed. Otherwise, it'll throw a code - 45. The solution is to remo...

Thanks but my exchange solenoid is reading ~42 so it seems like I am right in spec on that component.

So I guess deduction says I need to check the pressure sensor itself, and possibly the wiring to/from the ECU...

Re: F-N code 45

When you get the code, have you stopped, unplugged the MAP & pressure exchange solenoid to test their resistance? That should help tell you whether the probably is related to the wiring or the sensor. Reviving old thread because I have code 45. The FSM page about this is hosted on Josh's site i...

Hey Josh, as always I appreciate your concern.

That is a cool kit, I just wish I didn't need it ;)

I should start my own thread to keep things tidy, and allow this one to serve the purpose of the OP.

Re: Rebuilt Motor, Won't Start

This thread is officially hijacked I guess. The injectors were rebuilt less than 2 years ago, so I don't suspect them. I am currently thinking that an ECU/wiring issue is the cause of the problem. That could cause the injectors to not work correctly, no? I am 100% sure the lines are correct (nothing...

Re: Rebuilt Motor, Won't Start

Can you share how you're verifying you have proper spark & fuel? Josh, what is the best way to check for spark? Pulling a wire off the coil was an easy and effective way to check for spark. (I had fat spark arching over an inch to the plug wire) So what about Fuel? I know my pump is pushing fue...

Re: Rebuilt Motor, Won't Start

The way I check, is have someone crack the car over and pull a plug off the coilpack, hold the boot close to the coilpack and you should be able to see the spark between the coil and the boot. If that makes sense... I think it makes sense. You are saying: remove one plug wire from the coil pack, ho...

Re: Sputtered and now won't fire - Fuel Pump?

when you put the key to ON position you can hear the fuel pump prime. It is very noisey. you may need to drop the rear seat forward to hear it better. And you are sure there is no leaks at the intake? Listening for pump noise can be a quick way to confirm that it is working, but not being able to h...

Re: Dynamic Entry's 4EAT to 5MT Swap (Angel -> Demon)

damn okay. i was going to swap the front part with the fuel/temp from my drift car onto my jdm cluster so hide the PRND321 but the fuel and temp are on opp sides being lhd/rhd so i need to find a 5mt rhd cluster I remember thinking to myself that, if I had to, I could re-route the harnesses to plug...

Thanks Josh, I assume you had problems clearing the suspension because of the positive offset.

I might be able to test fit a friend's different set with the same dimensions.

everything non-forester/outback/baja is either +53 or +55. 6.5" or narrower wheels are +55 7" and wider wheels are +53. The one exception is the 08 sti, which is +55. The tall cars have less offset (+48) because they use bigger tires. I think the added scrub radius (and bearing load) from...
