Re: resonator size inlet

You might search for the coffee cup mod. Used to be the thing to do to replace the resonator. You may get better results doing a google search.

Re: Dyno on Stroked 2.2T

To me that sounds pretty good and I would be happy with that. Crank hp should be quite a bit higher. Not sure how much drivetrain loss is normal for these cars. I have a set of the roller rockers, but I was going to have a roller profile put on some stock cams. If they work on the stock profile with...

I had that and it was a vacuum line off the bottom of the pressure sensor if I remember right.

Re: Best Way To Clean Hydraulic Lifters

I kind of second the misfire climbing a hill being something other than lifters. Under load the engine is torqued over and a plug wire may be rubbing on something. Might check your engine mounts as they could be allowing the engine to move around more than it should under load.

Re: Aluminum LCA weight difference verified.

The car does corner flatter now. It is noticeable. I don't drive my test loop anymore that had the cloverleaf where I would push things a bit. I was pushing the speed up when I would go through there and was at the point where the front end would just start pushing and I don't even remember what spe...

Re: Aluminum LCA weight difference verified.

Got the bushings all ground down and flat which took a long time as to get an accurate measurement they had to be cool and I wasn't really taking as much off as I would have thought. I did not get to use the rear bushings in the aluminum housings as they were too thick and the bolt holes were off by...

That is the same length as the STI bushings that are in the arms. See if you have some that are shorter. It sounds like you should have.

Yes, that's the bushing, the one that is pressed into the LCA in the front.

Re: Aluminum LCA weight difference verified.

I think i am going to grind down the too long STI bushing in the front, but I don't have a good measurement on how long it should be. Does anyone have a accurate measurement on the stock bushing length. It would be a big help if someone did.

Aluminum LCA weight difference verified.

I am finally getting around to putting my aluminums LCA's on the car due to the lower ball joints being bad and I took the opportunity to put a whiteline roll center kit on as I lowered the car about an inch when I put the 04 STI strut and springs on. The results will have to wait as I didn't know t...

Get in the trunk with a flashlight and have someone use a garden hose to run water over everything. You should find the leak that way. Just make sure that someone is going to let you back out of the trunk.

Re: Best year for 1st gen turbo legacy?

I'm kind of biased as I own a 91. They got features such as the oil cooler and I think a limited slip that the later years did not get. I may stand corrected as there are more knowledgeable people than me if they stop by for a visit. I like the looks a little better too.

That's your lifters making that sound. Pretty common. Nothing I have done seems to get rid of it.

That's one serious leak. Are you sure you didn't overfill it? I have no idea, but would a new pcv valve have any effect on anything?

You might be able to find some polyurethane bushings that would work. Just have to measure yours and compare to what they have available.

Re: Turbo oil return line leak?

I think I have this same issue, but the only place I can see oil drips is the exhaust manifold studs on the bottom of the head. Can not see how in the heck it is getting there. Where were your drips noticeable? I got a new valve cover gasket, but I really doubt it is going to take care of the problem.

The best upgrade is a set of EDM glass headlights with H4 bulbs. About twice the light output. Put a wanted ad out and see what you find.

I would think you could just insert the hose through the filler neck in order to suck out some fuel. To remove the hose I could see you needing to lift the flapper with a skinny screwdriver or something.

I hate Facebook.

Facebook has ruined so many of the forums, it's like wally world taking out all the mom and pop shops. I do like the marketplace, but could give a rip about the rest of it. Can't seem to find anything and you have to scroll and scroll and scroll. I might be doing something wrong.
