Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
Wait you're saying your shifter won't work not unless you have this style of w58 from the later supras, right?

I'm confused on what you are saying what wont work about the w58s?
Your shifter or something about the bell housing?

Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
Very nice sir, I would like to see how you did your shift box, I have to move my shifter too and haven't figured a good way to do that yet. Also I found the speedo cable from a 80s supra clipped in like factory into the Subaru speedo, it just happened to be the perfect length for my car, not sure ho...

Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
the Ws i have heard in that 300hp range, the Rs 400.
it's just all going to depend how you drive it really.

Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
yeah it kind of sucks with the Rs because it was only in a truck, so you are limited to one set of gear ratios, which actually isn't to far off from the subarus. at least with the Ws you get a couple different gearing selections depending on what you get them from. i got mine from a celica/supra, so...

Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
sadly the 154s have a longer input shaft then the Ws and the 150/151s and because of that it wasn't going to work. we had talked about making a spacer to take up the extra room so someone could run a 154, so it's not out of the question. this just fits the "masses". it's a rwd or 4x4 trann...

Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
Looking real good! Hows the fit, input shaft alignment, etc? Also, what is used for a pilot bearing? as this was built by someone that loves to do this kind of stuff and has been making some awesome bell housings for years, i see no issues with any kind of alignment issues. as for the fit, mine isn...

Re: Finally a real rwd option is in the works
That is awesome!! Nice work For what its worth, i have a spare W58 i ran in a third gen supra. Those transmissions are really nice, held up 350 HP abuse no problem. R154's are super strong too. and the most i'm ever going to put to it is a frankenmotor ej25. and maybe some day a light turboed motor...

Re: 1991 Legacy turbo $800
Wow, if you were local... Is the whole body straight? I don't see any dents. Paint condition? it's damn strait, i was really going to feel bad parting the thing out if i did. i think the paint has been reshot in places. but once again, it didn't matter to me, i was going to take it all apart. it wo...

OK so i bought this with thoughts of yanking the motor, building this, doing that with it all. Real life says it's been sitting in my driveway for to damn long with out me even touching it. I have a 3 ring binder of pretty much everything that has ever been done to the car. Even has the original win...

making the 2.2 heads flow some air
so i have some questions for anyone that has taken the time to make the 2.2 heads flow some air. i know by their nature they will always flow less then the newer stuff, but i'm wanting, truthfully, needing to stick with the 2.2 heads. and i guess i should point out, i'm talking about NA heads. my go...
