Re: JDM parts from a land down under.

Looking mainly for a "1s" ecu and an airbox assembly from a gt-b/rs or v3/v4. Last few pieces of the puzzle for my swap.

You sure you don't want to let go of the ej207 shortblock, I could offer many usdm parts in trade lol.

They should be Chris, the SS rack is considered to be a bolt in mild upgrade to the second gen rack.

Re: '99 Legacy GT sedan, WRX swap

The wrx intercooler is a little wider than the TT/ej20k intercooler but other than that they're fairly similar in shape and placement. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work for your swap. I also eydballed those zero sports splitters but I couldn't justify one at the prices they're listed at. I got...

Re: '99 Legacy GT sedan, WRX swap

Looking good man. I like that color on the gt's, my friend has a 97 in the same color. One thing I'd suggest is getting an intercooler splitter for the hood so you can direct the air from the scoop directly onto the intercooler. I got the one I have installed from a gentleman named Ben Thurgar on fa...

Re: 5mt swap speedo questions

The 3 wiring plugs coming from the 98 trans will be neutral switch, reverse switch, and speed sensor. 95+ legacy uses an electronic speed sensor, so you'll need to remove the vss and put your cable in there. I am pretty certain the auto cable will work just fine for you.

Re: Reubens BC "Blighter"

From what I've seen the early 20g heads are fairly similar in the combustion chamber to the ej205 and ej255 give or take a few cc's and there are several builds using them as well. But I definitely understand wanting to make dead sure things are going to go together without interference.

Re: Reubens BC "Blighter"

Many of us over here have installed dohc heads on the sohc pistons in the ej22e. As long as you aren't using a proper thickness head gasket you won't have any piston to valve contact without timing belt breakage.

They are the same length, the only 2 ej rods that are different lengths are the ej25d and ej251.

The 95-99 radiators will fit fine, depending on what he's asking for it though you may be better off buying new. They can be had off eBay for under 80 bucks shipped.

One small nugget I learned, the tgv position sensor is the same as the tps on the wrx and a few other phase 2 cars. Definitely worth keeping around just in case.

Re: axle won't fit in diff

I just checked through my fsms, you do in fact have an impreza rear diff, 4.11 ratio, v-type instead of the r160 legacy type diff. You will need impreza rear axles specific to the v-type diff.

Re: axle won't fit in diff

Can you post a picture of the differential, if by chance it's from an impreza it could be one of two types of diffs it could be. Each takes its own specific axle type. I can easily id them on sight. But as long as they axles and diff match there is no reason they shouldn't fit together and swap into...

Re: EJ22T w/ 02-03 2.0 WRX Heads

I wonder what the deal is, I have a 93 and a 97/98 shortblock that both have mild protrusion. Both of them will be coming apart at some point in the near future so I'll see about getting some measurements when I do. But of course you're doing it right using the parts you have in front of you for you...

Re: EJ22T w/ 02-03 2.0 WRX Heads

Both 22e shortblocks I have in my building have a slight protrusion. If you do the math you will see it to be true. All ej series blocks have a 201mm deck height, ej18/20/22e have a 75mm stroke with 130.5mm rods, and 33.3mm compression height. So with that said, the math: 37.5+130.5+33.3=201.3, 201....

That sounds like you aren't figuring in the 0.3mm that phase 1 pistons poke out of the block. By my calculations that combo ends up with 9.3:1.

Re: EJ22T w/ 02-03 2.0 WRX Heads

Depends on which 22e piston you use, the 90-96 pistons are -14cc and I get 8.85:1 on the calculator, 97-98 pistons are -12cc and that comes to 9:1.

As for the rods, you can use ej205, ej257, and ej255 fitment rods because there the same length as the ej22t/22e rods.

Re: VF28 without engine management

Honestly I'm thinking what you have is too big, allowing too much oil pressure through the turbo and blowing the seals. If the turbos had failed in different ways I wouldn't think this. But you've got 2 turbos in a row that did the same thing. Both with that feed kit in common. From what I've seen t...
