I have a stock vf11 sitting boxed on a shelf. PM me if you're interested in it...was in excellent shape when pulled with minimal shaft play.

Re: Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

SWRT, from all my subie experience the rear backers rust out at about the same rate as the wheel wells so my guess is they are beyond really salvaging. Dorman does offer new brake shield as a more cost effective alternative to OEM that has been covered here on the bbs. IIRC, the Dorman's mounting ho...

Re: 1997 Impreza Coolant Overflow Issue

Could be a bad/clogged vacuum valve in the radiator cap that's not allowing the coolant to be drawn back into the coolant system. There are a few ways to check for excessive vacuum as the engine cools down, the easiest being doing a visual on the upper radiator hose and seeing if it appears crushed ...

Re: Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

Larry, Your sleuth like skills have served you well. I double checked this past week and the caps are indeed as you stated in your writeup...specific for the sport sedans/touring wagons. I never really noticed the details between our overflow tanks and all those n/a year/makes/models out there but t...

Re: Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

Larry,

Will definitely check tomorrow on both my 91SS and the 92 parts car, then reference with the example/pic form the ebay link I send you and let you know for sure. I know what you mean about wanting to get these first gens back to looking like they came off the factory floor!

Re: Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

Larry, I have them, just thought that you would be able to find just the cap new and save some $$$ verses me shipping out the entire unit to you. I did a quick search on ebay, is this the part you are looking to replace???? https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-90-18-Subaru-Engine-Coolant-Tank-Cap-Impreza-Fo...

Re: Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

Allnines, pm'ed you back on the radio harness. Sublimejoe, you might have some options for that single ecu plug. Search the forums for OTC part no.T96P-12A650-B or do a quick google search. I know these OTC scan tools come up on ebay cheap sometimes and they are a direct replacement for our 1st gen ...

Check out my part out post. I'm in zip 49855 but make it down to Green Bay/Appleton/Madison Wi often enough which would shave off about two hours each way. PM me if you are interested in the hood.

Larry,

Sure, I have several laying around and can pick the one that's in the best shape. Don't know if it's worth much by the time I add shipping out to you but I will PM you and we can work out the details.

Re: Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

Larry, You may be on to something there. I have a few extra TCU's from 4EAT's that I have pulled from mid-to-late 90's Legacys and 2.5 Outbacks...might be worth a try even going against the hard and fast rule that Subaru TCU's should stay with the tranny they are pulled from as in year/make/model bu...

Parting Out 92 Legacy SS Auto

Well, even though I would love to resurrect this SS once you see the pics you will know why, so i've decided it's time to part out to help fund my other builds and give some Legacys a chance at staying on the road for a few more years. The car has 183k on the odometer and i'd still be driving it if ...

Check to make sure the injectors aren't seized...I know it sounds basic but I bought a package robtune/ecu/injectors/jecs maf also and the seller swore the yellow tops had just been cleaned and flow tested by Witchhunters but he "couldn't find the flow sheet". Ended up that three out of the four inj...

Re: Discrepancy in ej20g ECU pinout/4 channel ignition

Dank & Mike, Just to clarify, and hopefully this can answer your questions and help with a smooth and more importantly correct install, yes there is a discrepancy between the EJ20G FSM from Subaru and the Haltech diagram. What has caused confusion on the FSM in the past is the assumption that the ac...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Thanks. I would love to offer some of these patch harnesses up for sale but by the time you add up the overall cost of a used loom, socket, and especially the need to outright purchase the 4to2 converter from Rob, it really does put it out of the typical build price range as you can accomplish the s...

Big thanks to Josh and Dave for all the FSM scans and pinouts, Rob for well, everyt...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Copying over my post from FL4T Tlegs for my bbs fam. Been running the Lamco boost gauge pretty much since i've owned the car but recently picked...
