I vote for putting it together like it all should be. the pulley is not the problem, your install of the timing covers is at fault. Measure twice, cut once, never falter, always boostin.

you have to tune the piggy back yes. And yes your turbo is capable of 22 psi, although its fairly out of its efficiency range. We have a few guys here in alaska that just tuned their td04's to 20+ just for the heck of it. Those suckers spool fast!

I pulled the motor yesterday, havent split it yet, but I checked my turbo and it has the same ammount of lateral play that it had before, and no axial play to speak of. I think i'm gonna put on a vf-20 ( or whatever comes from a LGT) Unless my friend decides to just give me a newer td04. I'm hoping ...

I hope your clutch doesn't go out, right after you get it runnig, then you'll feel like a fool for not replacing it when you had the chance. I always do mine, even if its in a ford exploder.
