No problem Dave. I'm away for the weekend from tomorrow anyway. And may we say a big 'THANKS!' to whoever has generously hosted us for so long. Do we need to make some kind of donation for the new server space?

Saw a wine coloured Turbo saloon in Nottingham today...

Anyone from this list? Very clean looking with big rear pipe. Going out towards the A453 at about midday today (28/10/03). Let us know if you're on here.

Also saw white J-reg turbo estate without roof rails heading south on the M1 at about 11.30am. Are you on here?

I second that guess! The early indication that a wheel bearing is on the way out is when you start to get the 'moaning' sound whilst putting pressure on that side of the car when turning. So if the sound comes when you're turning right, it's a left side bearing that's going. (someone please correct ...

Re: Bought a 91 legacy sport

After I drive the car for a little while I go under the hood and I can smell burning oil.. Firstly, welcome to the forum and also to Subaru ownership! I too get the same smell sometimes and need to check the gaskets. I've been trying to work out if it's the clutch burning or brake fluid leaking or ...

Mine's pretty notchy too, especially going into 4th from 3rd, but I put that down to the huge mileage.

It's still not as notchy as my wife's Fiat though :D

I agree that any exhaust can do harm as well as good. A recent review of race exhausts for Yamaha bikes showed performance losses from some pipes and gains on others. It just shows that you can't guarantee gains just because you have a 'performance' pipe...

Pretty much everything that's been stated and the fact that at any speed above around 65 mph the wiper on the drivers side tends to float over the spot right in my field of view while my passengers get an unobstructed perfect view of the road  This is easy - just buy one of those blades with ...

I'm with Subafreak. I love the total sleeper element of the BF/BC Legacies. However, I have to say that I'd want a wee bit more equipment - standard climate control and cruise control for those long journeys but that's it. Well, maybe a bit more power wouldn't go amiss! :D I guess that sounds like t...

My exhaust has similar sized outlets but they are further forward on the car (ie they don't stick out the back like that). I like it because no-one really notices the twin outlets. Sleeper!! 8)

My conclusion was that while the turbo is faster, the difference between it and my NA would not be noticable once you threw in some turns. I guess 300 pounds and a slushbox really hurt. Absolutely true. You can only enter a given corner so fast so a turbo will have no advantage. The only difference...

Don't want to rain on the parade but (a) you'll NEVER get a hotel room in London for $30 a night (more like $65 for a Travelodge which is BASIC!! ) and (b) you'll be lucky to find any sort of worthwhile Subaru parts. Anyway, we want them all. :D I think a trip to the land of the Rising Sun i...

Definitely km/h. See http://vehiclesales.jicconline.co.uk/47103/SL8553i.jpg for a close-up of the speedo on an import twin turbo.

I reckon it could look really awesome, but probably the best thing to do would be to play with images on something like Photoshop before spending money/time on bodywork! In any case, Bilsteins are often rock-hard in comparison to OE equipment. You need to decide exactly where you want your ride/handling compromise to sit and then go and seek out a suspension specialist who can help. Personally my Turbo is a great balance between comfort and handling. Anytime I think...
