I have my FWD legacy gutted. It only has a drivers seat and dash in the inside. I also took off the trunk...lol and removed the muffler. I'd like to know how much mine weighs.

The project got delayed a week, but we finally started. My friend and I started about 8:30am and worked until 10:00 without any problems. I sprayed all of the bolts last night, and the downpipe bolts came of easy. Then we tried the uppipe bolts. They didn't want to budge. We only have a 3/8 socket s...

Just got some more symptoms. I've noticed the past two days that when the car is cold, the car will go into reverse and go without me pushing on the gas. If I push on the gas, it just revs. After the car has been running awhile and warmed up, reverse doesn't work at all. About the custom hatchback. ...

Well, I think I may just attempt to do the job on Saturday, and Sunday if need be. I'm usually pretty determined once I get started, so long days shouldn't be a problem. Maybe I'll see if my mechanic/cousin can be there to supervise. I'm trying to learn to do things for myself, so I don't have to ca...

The TD05 Has Arrived

After almost a year of talking to some guy I met from another forum about buying his turbo, he finally sold it to me. He said he was always too busy, so he couldn't pull it off the engine. And when he told me that he got it pulled and to send the money, I thought maybe I was about to get scammed. Bu...

No Reverse!!

The topic isn't entirely true. It engages and slowly rolls backward, but when I hit the gas it doesn't go anywhere. It's a 92 FWD auto sedan. I didn't notice this until yesterday. At the beginning of my workshift, it was working alright (I deliver pizzas in it). It felt like something was wrong, but...

UPDATE:

Didn't know I had a boost leak until i went to the track. Turns out, the intercooler pipe from the turbo has been leaking. I got it fixed for one run.

15.68 @ 85.7 w/ 2.13 60'

The pipe is still giving me problems. I need to find a more permanant solution.

With stock clutch, I made conservative launches. Also, I've only been driving a 5 speed for a little over a month.

16.3 @ 81.9mph with 2.17 60ft

TD05 is on it's way. That and an exhaust should bring me down a bit.

Hypothetically, I could have a 2.35L DOHC Turbo Legacy by using a Phase I 2.5L crank, rods, cams, and heads?

Sounds like these items would be hard to find and expensive.

Mine is tapped into the same location as Boostjunkie described. This hose, I believe, goes to the pressure exchange solenoid. I remember reading about a "trick" you can do to this hose get a few extra psi before fuel cut. I never did it because I didn't want an inaccurate reading to my gua...

It's a turbo. I do have the silencer ('snorkus') removed. Does it only happen at low vacuum on her car? I usually hear it at about 2-5 in. hg If i can throttle it just right, I can make the sound stay there for several seconds. It's more annoying than anything. There aren't any major problems that I...

Humming Noise at Low Vacuum

Have you ever blown over the top of a pop bottle? You get that sorta deep hum. Well, I hear this nearly every time my car is at partial throttle and the vacuum is just below 5. It seems to occur more times when the throttle is closing. Inside the car, the noise is coming from the far left side of th...

My roommate and I went out to eat tonight and I drove my daily. We brought home some leftovers in one of those foam containers and had it resting on the dash in front of him. ECU - Legacy Turbo vs. WRX?

I've been reading through some old posts these past couple days and came upon the review of the autronics EMS. This sparked an interest in me, and I'm considering purchasing some such system. When searching for engine management, I came across two that I've heard of, Haltek and AEM. After looking at...

The boost controller is measuring from a vaccum hose coming directly out of the intake manifold. The gauge and the ecu numbers probly don't match up.

I am using a mbc. I'm not sure what kind. It's actually just a loner until I can get one. It was an abrupt hesitation. As soon as it happened, I let off the gas and didn't let it get up there again. I turned it down just a bit. Now, it gets a little past 10 pounds in 5th gear. About the auto-x, I di...
