I wouldn't recommend using used pulleys unless they're in almost new condition.
If they spin really free then the grease that's left is becoming ineffective and will possibly seize before the next timing belt service.
Aftermarket has new for a good price.

It's possible the tensioner was bad and couldn't keep the belt from slapping or the bolt was over tightened or a little of both.

We did this but didn't take pictures :( I'll try and get some next time the customer is back in town with the car. I used an Audi 5000t or 200t intercooler pipe under the manifold and moved the stock PS tank with the WRX tank and WRX adapter on our pump. I had to bend the hi pressure PS line a bit a...

Do ya think the bolt was over tightened or the idler bearing failed to break the bolt?

I think 90% of the time the idler fails first and destroys the belt, but with the bolt broke?

Good thing these are not interference engines :)

No, Napphappy is correct.
I'll have to eat crow after ripping on scuzzy for posting wrong info :)
You'd have to modify the tabs to the other side for them to work.
corrected my post above :)

Good info ^^^
I just checked and if you want to use the (more available) 2.2t injectors (or liberty / 20G) you just have to use the 2.2t rails. They fit the 2.5 manifold fine. (I might be wrong) :)
This is all usefull info for the swapsters.

Time for the timing belt front seals (crank & cam) to be changed?
If so - Don't forget the timing belt idlers to replace at the same time.

Other oil leak zones are the RT. RR. cam cap O-rings, valve cover gaskets & bolt grommets and the POS RR. main seal and cover plate reseal.

Just buy a gallon of straight coolant and a gallon of distilled water and mix as you add.
About 2 gallons
The ratio isn't super critical.

People should quit posting wrong, stupid info if they havent actually done it! " no the rails don't fit because the EJ25 block is phyiscally wider, meaning the manifold is streched more" This is how all the good info gets diluted on the internet. The block is not wider. The longer stroke 2...

I think you'd have better luck with the 20G injectors (I've got some) because they are not too big for the stock ECU to adjust for. or set up with perfect power or e-manage to be able to pull timing and fuel (STi injectors). Are the STi injectors you have yellow side feed? Your block/head combo will...
