EJ20G heads on an EJ22T
I was looking at putting my 91 Liberty RS EJ20G heads on my EJ22T block. I know that it drops the compression quite a bit (from the compression chart on the website) Is it easy to get compression out of these heads by shaving them? I know some heads are easier to get a point or two out of than other...

Re: 6MT Question
Don't know right off without taking it for a spin but I have replaced the cluster with a fresh one and it is the same.

Re: 6MT Question
I wonder if someone changed the rear gear then, because it's well over that at 65 mph in 5th.

6MT Question
My manual 91 SS is great around town, but now with a kid on the way it would be nice to go on a road trip in it without being tach'd out doing 65 mph. Isn't there a 6mt from an STI that would go in a 91 SS? Has anyone done this before? I would love to be able to drive on the interstate for extended ...

Re: Downpipe, Open Exhaust
Well I already WOKE it up when I gutted the cats, it was an almost unrecognizable car at that point. I heard a friend of mine say that he lost power because it needed a little back pressure...mine already hits the fuel cut as it is, I just didn't want to lose any. Especially from the bottom end beca...

Downpipe, Open Exhaust
I have a 91 SS that I have a stainless header on, VF-11 and a completely turbo back stock exhaust except for the fact that both the cats are gutted. It spools really quick, but I was thinking of putting a Tsudo 3 inch downpipe and completely open exhaust all the way back on it. Has anyone run a comb...

Re: 300-400hp EJ22T
You're really going to need a standalone to get 300 whp or above. I just don't see anything else working well. I've kept the stock heads because I've got all the work setup on it already. If I had it to do over again, I'd go DOHC heads. When and if this motor ever goes or if I want more power, I'll...

Re: 300-400hp EJ22T
That's alright. I was just wondering what anyone has been able to get out of the EJ22T in it's most basic form (Without head swaps).evolutionmovement wrote:Sorry. People were talking about custom forged pistons, so I made a bad assumption.

Re: 300-400hp EJ22T
I was actually talking about the off the shelf pistons that Wiseco makes for the EJ22T. They are not custom, but are the same as stock only forged.evolutionmovement wrote:What does the compression ratio matter if you get custom pistons anyway?

Re: 300-400hp EJ22T
I wouldn't mind trying the stock heads. Wiseco actually list an excellent set of forged pistons made just for the EJ22T. Maybe send the heads out to Mondello? That guy gets some crazy flow numbers. I had him do a set of Oldsmobile 5A smog heads one time...He put the largest valves possible, did a fu...

Re: 300-400hp EJ22T
I have a spare EJ22T and would like to use all of the parts. I have some spare EJ20G heads but it seems a little complicated to do the head swap, plus getting custom pistons made to up the compression after the drop you get from the swap.

300-400hp EJ22T
So, I've read so much about the 300-400hp EJ22t builds...My question is does anyone have a recipe for this? I realize the SOHC heads need to be heavily ported w/larger valves. I am not talking about throwing some DOHC heads on it. What can you do about cams? Do they make hot ones? Injectors? Ignitio...

Re: Temp Gauge Help!!!
So...I fixed it. All of these problems were literally from the top screw in the back of the temp gauge being stripped out! Whatever you do people, do not tighten one of these screws too tight! I had a HUGE ground problem with the battery draining and other stuff before I figured it out. I eventually...

Re: Temp Gauge Help!!!
Yeah that was what I was thinking too...I have a used gauge cluster on the way to test if maybe I broke something on the cluster or if it's the wiring. Pretty soon I will find out! Hate to have the Sube sitting there so long!!! I have Sti's to take care of!

Temp Gauge Help!!!
I was putting my gauge cluster back together today and there are 3 screws in behind the temp gauge...I accidently took them out, and when I reinstalled them, the temp gauge now actually goes all the way hot and stays there. I can't figure this out, because if you take these screws out they obviously...

Re: 1971 Cutlass S Trade for 91 SS-Pic Included NOT A FEELER
Not really interested in cash, maybe a good 90-91 Legacy that's already all wheel drive and wouldn't have to be converted...Doesn't have to be a turbo car, just would make a good rally car starting point. If I was offered the right amount of cash I probably wouldn't turn it down though. Make me an o...
