Re: Meatball671's 1993 Subaru legacy LSI

Jonah, Looks like a fun project! It does look like there is a bit more seam sealer on this car.... The other thing I'd suggest is removing the damper from the clutch master cylinder. I did not like how the clutch felt on my 2007 Impreza which had the damper in the master cylinder. It can be replaced...

Re: Swapping a 2.5l dohc out for a 2.2l sohc

You need to match the intake manifold to the heads. I do not know whether the 2.5 intake manifold will match up to the 2.2 heads. Hopefully others will chime in. The other thing you need to keep in mind is the ECU. I would suspect there will be some differences in the ECU between the 2.2 & 2.5 motor...

Thanks for letting us know. Is this behavior the same if you use a different computer?

Is anyone else having the same issues?

Thanks

Re: 86 Subaru Leone

That's cool you can use BRZ parts :)

Regarding the shifter, I've been happy with mine. I used TiC's poly bushings on everything and it's very solid feeling.

Re: Install Passenger turbo head only??

I would agree with Mike in that physically you can do it, however there are some differences in the cam and valves that I don't think would lend itself to a balanced motor.

Re: Expansion valve ?

What are the temperatures coming out of the vents? If it's blowing cold yeah I'd probably leave it be. I charged mine to around 80% of the R12 capacity.

Re: 1997 Impreza Coolant Overflow Issue

In the back of my head I kind of figured it would be the head gasket. When I get time or feel like it I’ll do the hydrocarbon sniffer. I’ve got another car to drive besides the Legacy so it’s not urgent....and I may be looking at something else come fall. We’ll see.

1997 Impreza Coolant Overflow Issue

I've been having an issue for some time now where the coolant gets pushed to the coolant expansion tank as it expands and is not sucked back into the radiator as it cools. I've manually drained the expansion tank back into the radiator and it does the same thing the next time I drive. My engine temp...

instead of rubber or plastic I made brass so copy original's, then that busing I pressed in was the same size as the rear control arms from svx pillow ball and made bushing to take the slack for bolt like stock. the tricky part is the pillow ball with race and cup to fit in the lower section of lea...

Re: Looking for ECUDataScan Instructions

Your best bet is to maybe post on the Australia forums. I pulled up their webpage on the internet archive. You can at least see the path of where the file was and the specific name, which may help with your search. Unfortunately they didn't archive the files before the account was suspended. https:/...

Have you noticed when you click on "unread messages" that sometimes this thread is under "stuff you need to know" and other times it's under "intake?" I get that it's a global sticky, and it's not really an issue, but it's kind of strange where the board selects to highlight this as an unread messa...

I tried IE 11.0.126 and the behavior is the same. I had it happen this morning using IE where it logged me out and I had to log back in. Chrome has been pretty good and I have not had to log back in. Just an FYI for those following this thread, there was a glitch in the matrix and Larry's post above Mark's wasn't showing up. I got it to show up now, but not sure why or how it exactly got messed up in the first place.

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build

I can’t drive it yet because I need to change the tie rod ends and can’t get them off. I’ve tried pb blaster and a torch but they won’t budge. If I fail again tomorrow I’ll have the car trailered to the shop right down the street to have them do it, and then an alignment. Are you using a propane or...
