Re: Can you swap driver's and passenger's seats?
As mentioned the rails/bases of the seats are different and are not interchangeable. I think you'll find trying to remove the seats from the bases may prove a little difficult because the recline mechanism/lever is going to be on the wrong side, and that lever is part of the plastic base trim. What ...

Re: Wheel Fitman Guide for 1991 Subaru Legacy with 5X114 Swap
I'm not 100% sure but I seem to recall that the STi had a wider track which is probably making the issue worse. other than looking for wheels with a higher offset I'm not sure what to say. How much room do you have between the tire and strut body?

Re: 91 Sedan 4eat only has 3rd, reverse, and park.
I "think" you should be able to use an later model Legacy rear section driveshaft as long as it has the newer style rear diff.
Again, I think there was a crossover point in 95-96 where the Legacy transitioned from the older style diff to the newer style diffs.

Just for clarity, where is it too short? In the front section where the driveshaft goes into the transmission or into the rear diff?

Re: Coolant return hose
Welcome to the BBS. Agree, you should look and see if the wiring to the coolant temp sensor is still good or if the connector possibly came off the sensor. You can also check the wiring from the connector back to the ECU to ensure it's good. if all that is good then replace the sensor. They are arou...

Re: 92 Turbo Legacy Front Wings?
Hi Pete, The North American turbo legacies came with the 2.2T vs the 2.0T that's found in the turbo legacies in other parts of the world. When I did my original swap I wanted to try and keep things stock so if I had issues it would be easier to troubleshoot and resolve. Plus I liked the earlier torq...

Any chance you or someone riding with you could take a video of the tachometer while you're driving and upload to youtube so we can see what's going on?

Why do you say it seems to disengage and drop into neutral?
These transmissions lock the torque converter at cruise and it can seem like that.

Re: 91 Sedan 4eat only has 3rd, reverse, and park.
So you've followed both procedures noted on my site to try and get codes from the TCU and still just get the 16 flashes? https://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/trans.html Does the shop have the wiring diagrams to trace each circuit that is noted by the codes? That would be my first step if I was unabl...

Re: 91 SS oil cooler - need photos
You'll find some pictures of the oil cooler setup in these rebuild pictures.
https://main.experiencetherave.com/suba ... eadwork/18
This oil cooler is from an STi but should be similar enough to the original turbo Legacy.

Do you have a stock coil pack you can throw in there just as a check? And maybe the plugs?

Try turning that screw all the way in and see what happens. Hi Mike, Yeah time flies and things change! I still have my Legacy but don't get to drive it much at all. I had fuel set in it too long and need to go through some things to get it running properly again. Dave was the one who had the foresight to setup this board and yes I've made some friends over ...
