I don't know about that, there has been a lot printed , discussed, talked about ect. In one book I have on this subject it says that boost is boost whatever altitude you are at and if you do have a container (we have) 13 lbs of pressure is the same absolute pressure no matter where you go until you ...

I believe so and have been told this by several people. The only reason that I am selling mine is that I didn't replace the stock turbo soon enough and when it blew evidently part of it went through the motor and I need the $ for the rebuild.

I custom built one for my Turbo Legacy motor in my'95 Impreza coupe but I haven't seen any bolt on cold air intakes for the turbo models and as Josh said bolt-on can be a rather vague term meaning it might work. A friend of mine runs a Motorcycle shop and in his suppliers catalogs they say "fit...

I am repairing a EJ22t short block that I aquired because it had a knock and the knock was coming from the most common source, #4 main the thrust bearing. About all it is going to cost me is the price of a set of bearings and a complete gasket set. The original pistons and rings will be used. So I g...

The idea of getting a EJ22 n/a and just swapping parts is not a very good idea as the n/a has high comp. pistons, doesn't have any oil or water supply or returns for the turbo and the ECU would have to be changed.

I wouldn't recommend doing it. We have modified a customers WRX with turbo upgrade, atwic, chip, intake ect and it has been the fastest in the state for some time. This summer things changed a bit, a WRX with close to the same setup got .2-.3 sec on it with 25 nox and on the next try he tried a 50 s...

Sounds like a nice setup but one question why the MSD ? We have a Ej22t at 450hp and it is running a stock ign. I have checked the system and it seems to be doing fine. We had one MSD setup that was installed by the customer on the theory that with a radical cam the spark was being blown out and the...

We have installed forged pistons in some engines and we have had a problem with a few brands. Now JE pistons have redesigned theirs after we told them over and over that the rings were too low. These people have a very good product and we are going back to them for the next motor we do.

Are you running a intercooler ? We have been checking this and 250 hp looks more like +18 lb boost as far as we can tell and this would be a bit of a risk.

Things are a bit slow and I checked to see if we could fix it for you and we can. It will need whatever synchros that are bad, probably 2nd and 3rd,complete gasket and seal kit, and possible mainshaft bearing.

The biggest problem with the sohc heads is the small valves. I have reved this engine about as high as it will go and at abo...

The biggest problem with this running a US spec Turbo legacy would be fitting four separate coils on to the US engine.

That's the catch can all the vent hoses go in there and it drains out the bottom into the valve cover through a small piece of hose. There is even a empty screw hole in the block to mount the thing. Ok keep us in mind. I kind of like the oil catch on my car that drains the oil back into the right front valve cover vent. If there is any interest in this type I will try to get them to make some of them.

I will check and see how much he want's for them. I think you are right on the path of the oil that eventually ends up in the intercooler. The way I understand it a big part of the oil problem results from oil is being thrown all over in the valve cover because of all the busy little parts in there ...

It's probably 5 or 6mm. I would say go with the smaller of the two that you have if it will fit without damaging the hose or get it from a dealer and then use a good clamp, not one of those things that chew up the hose because this is one that is important.

Yep we sell all kinds of weird things( I don't but the company that I work with/for does). The one on my car catches all the oil from the breathers and drains it back into the valve cover. He has some that he sells with his turbo kits that are a little different but work about the same. One nice thi...

My biggest concern was the '92 transmission and TCU working with the '95 ECU. I told him I could come up with something to cut the fuel back as the '95 ECU would deliver too much fuel with the Turbo injectors. Otherwise this should work somewhat like a aftermarket turbo setup with the advantage of l...

Swap question

I am talking to someone who's '92 Legacy Turbo was totaled. He now wants to swap the engine, automatic transmission and TCU into a '95 and use the '95 ECU. Anyone done this? suggestions? Problems? ideas? I think it should work.
