The concern is still what killed the battery. you my friend were correct. this "new" alternator turned out to be defective. i got it bench tested and it failed. after yelling at the place i bought it from 9 months ago (1 month of driving on alt fwiw) because i lost the warranty papers, i ...

by eliminating the pcv, i did not mean i cappe dit all off and called it a day. im not that retarded. both valve covers, and both crankcase vents are routed to a catch can which is vented to the atmosphere.

no, theres only one way it goes on. the way i figure theres only a few possibilities. its either mechanical, or electrical. if electrical, the problem lies in the wiring between the tcu and solenoid/sensors, or a failed/failing solenoid/sensor. if mechanical, it would be either a clutch pack issue (...

found the tcu and tested the duty c soledoid curcuit with and without the fwd fuse. it is good.

next i will have to test the wiring harness for power and continuity. and eventually the solenoid itself.

i may do a line pressure test if the wiring stuff checks out fine.

i reset the tcu, and it does act differently, but still no awd. on the bright side (maybe) my power light came on when i mashed it, and turned back off, i read this is normal. i am pretty sure the clutchpacks are not burnt, the tranny i got was in very good condition. the duty solenoid again, was te...

i got the car started after charging it. when the car was running for a minute, the voltage at the battery was 14.5x so that means the alternator is working, right? i took off the charger last night when it was able to turn over under its own power. this morning it read 12.50, when i put the key in ...

i installed an aftermarket front axle that was too short and ended up popping out when i was trying to turn around on a busy sidestreet.

may not pertain to your situation, but anytime someone says thump thump thump while turning i immediately think axle.

my car is dead/dying.

I just swapped in a lower km shortblock after the car had been sitting for the entire summer. I drove the car around for a few hours and noticed the starter starting to crank slower as i ran my errands, being a fresh motor it fired up right away. when i got home in my garage and tried to restart the...

started it up last night, fired up first time after priming.

runs great but i think i need a new battery. i have a brand new alternator so i think its gotta be the battery.

motor runs so smooth and the idle is solid.

so far so good.
