AC, not sure how to go about fixing.

Hey all, wondering if you could help me with something. I bought a '93 legacy from this guy who says it's been changed over to use 134 but the compressor just needs replaced because whoever it was who put the compressor back on tightened the belt too much and that ruined it. Is this guy just blowin'...

k so this is kinda hard to explian but I'll try. It seems that there is some kind of washer loose inside of the top mount and when I took the mount off the strut it was pretty much just flopping around in there. Also, I don't know what's up with it, cause I put it on the correct way when I chaged my...

Need to replace rear left spring perch and top mount.

Hey there, so my rear left spring perch and top mount are totally screwed up. In fact, I don't know if you're supposed to be able to, but they don't even come apart. Anyway, the issue I'm having is that this screwed up assembly is causing my strut to run into the top mount whenever it must absorb an...

gr2 stock fit?

Hey there. I'm about to put new struts in the front and rear cause I'm pretty sure they haven't been replaced for the life of the car (around 175k.) So I was wondering if there's any modification you have to do to a 90 legacy NA to make the gr2s fit. They seem to be the popular choice for this car.

I dunno if your legacy is like this, but on my '90, you need to plug in the four way flasher button, or none of your blinkers will work.

Ah, I see that now. But that one is for an automatic and my car is a manual. I did try searching for the same one but just for a manual tranny. Nothing came up, is it interchangeable? It looks slightly different than the one on my car.

Alirghty, so I inspected where the cable screws into the tranny and here's the deal. The threads, which are plastic, are messed up towards the top so there's no way for me to completely screw the thing in. Thinking I would solve the new problem with a new speedo cable, I ordered one online. However,...

Okay, so I took it to a place and it's fixed now. They said it was a blown fuse and a disconnected cable behind the dash. Personally I would have rather figured that out myself but oh well, I'll just remember to not be dumb, and to disconnect the battery next time. So Anyway, back to the first probl...

Anyone have any ideas? I mean, I guess it wasn't the smartest to work on it while the car was running. I've taken it apart and looked at it again. I've checked all the fuses. I guess I'll just have to take it to a place that does electrical.

Yes. Everything I unplugged, I plugged back in. In fact, the only thing I unlpugged from the cluster in the first place was the speedo cable.

Okay. So I took the dash off, and the speedometer seems to be connected just fine. One slight problem though, while I was doing it, the instrument panel and the fan switches just quit on me. The light still comes on in the instrument cluster, but not even my tachometer is working. Also, I had the ca...

Hmm. Yeah they should be. I just recently had a shop (discount tire) switch out my all seasons for studded snows. Is it possible they were lazy and didn't torque my wheels down properly? I'm at work now but that'll be the next thing to check.

Bad wiring?

Hey there. Okay here it is, sometimes when I'm driving, and I brake, it's like I temporarily lose power within the car, sometimes it's only for a split second, but sometimes it literally shuts the car off and that's not happy. I'm wondering if this might be a wiring problem as I'm pretty sure my bat...

wheel shake

Does anyone have a common explanation for my steering wheel to be shaking at over 55mph? It's weird, it's totally fine until you go past around 55 and then it starts to shake worse and worse the faster I go. Is my alignment bad? Is it possible for a bad road to throw that off? Cause ours is hideous,...

Hey thanks guys. The car is actually a manual and no the odometer is no longer working. Is it possible for that wire to become disconnected? Becuase there's a long white wire that I noticed the other day hanging out down below right next to the pedals. I thought that might be a possibility but it st...

Speedometer probs

Alright I'll cut to the chase. My Speedometer just up and quit and I'm getting the vehicle speed senor code from the ECU. Does this mean I have to replace the instrument cluster? Thanks

I'm not sure. I'll have to take a closer look. All I did before was lift up the hood when it was making that moise and I could definately tell it was coming from the compressor. It hasn't been doing it since after I posted this though, so who knows what's goin on. That sounds like a good solution to...

AC system problem

Hey there. I was wondering if I could get some help on this. It seems that every time I turn on the defog/heat in my car, the ac compressor starts to make a NASTY harsh noise. Almost like a really unhealthy snarl. And it gets worse with how high you rev the engine. The heater works fine as long as y...

Hey thanks again. Okay, so once again, pardon my inexperience, but what's the difference between a long block and a short block? I'm gonna call some junkyards (non U-pull) around here and see what they've got.
