There have been swaps... but they're almost all entire front swaps. Bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, corners.

True. The ones that are on there are as pristine as it gets... so I'm going to assume if what you said was the case at some point, it was resolved by the previous owner.

I've been mulling over mounting it closer to the ECU... it's so scary under the dash of my car though... not to mention very uncomfortable. lol

I'm going to scope it out a bit, and see what I can do about that, though. Time to look at some pinouts!

MRT Boost Cut Defender

Contrary to its name, it's actually a fuel cut lifter. I found out mine was installed incorrectly, reading from the MAF, and not actually intercepting, even. So I'm looking to put it in it's proper place, intercepting MAP signals. MRT emailed me an installation guide for a different FCD, which they ...

But it is possible to solder wire to connector pins. Just be sure not to leave too much solder built up or it won't fit back in the connector.
MRT's installation instructions say to pull the signal from the MAP, not the MAF.

If you could run it with the 440's first and log some stuff, I'd like to see that. You'll have matched my setup after installing the grey tops.

Hmmmm. Okay.

Also considering "breaking" the pins off of the existing wire and soldering them on to the new wire...

Really lacking a mode of transportation to go searching around town... so I'm trying to make due with what I have around the house.

"repinning" connectors?

Alright. So one of the previous owners of my car had installed a fuel cut defender, but it was reading from the MAF. This is incorrect, as I understand it. Unfortunately, they spliced the FCD in very close to the MAF connector, and used butt connectors to do so. It looks really sloppy. After clippin...

Are those the JDM BD/BG rims? Let's see pics of them on the car! That they are! Cost me $243 shipped without tires from a guy in Texas. Running Toyo Proxes 4 215/45/17 at the moment. Here are a couple photos from the day I had them mounted: http://photos-c.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-snc1/v272/163/84...

Can't you put a WRX rack in? Is it easy? If it's covered in steering fluid like that, doesn't that mean it's leaking? I don't like the stop leak idea. I don't like bandaids, I like sure things. Since the engine is out, I would like to replace it now instead of wait and find out it IS leaking and th...

Stock uppipe? I've never seen an O2 in an uppipe. Some EJ20Gs have a temp sensor in the bottom of the uppipe and some USDM WRXs have one in the top of the uppipe. It's a turboXS uppipe... and apparently the bung is for an EGT sensor. Looks like you were right. /end hijack Thanks again for the help!

The factory ECU should recieve the signal just fine. There are those that say it works-no problem, and there are those that say the similated signal reacts too slow. YMMV. I say try it. If you don't like it, then you can always add in a stock narrowband later. While your waiting for your clutch, ha...

I don't really know how the PFC works -- whether it passes the signal on to the ECU or not...

Just a couple of questions for you...

Did you keep your wideband O2 installed in this car? Were you running a narrowband O2 sensor alongside it? Or were you sending signals to the ECU from the wideband?
