I hooked my test light up to the signal wire, it stays on until I turn the key on, then it flashes once. It stays on solid when I crank....no pulsing. I'll try to find a proper noid light, or perhaps an LED with pigtails I can plug into the harness. This is so frustrating! I just put in a different ...

I just monitored the power out of the ECU with my volt meter and I see a constant voltage while cranking, there is no interruption/pulse. I'm thinking security has this car disabled! Thing is, I don't think I got any kind of remote from the guy when I bought the car. I guess I'll start looking throu...

I've been trying to find a noid light, but I ask for them at parts stores, I just get totally blank stares! It's extremely frustrating! I'll be finding myself a tool truck tomorrow and buying one.

Injector power supply questions

Can someone explain injector circuitry and power supply? Looking at the diagrams, it seems that yellow wire supplies power full time, and then the other wire supplies a signal from the ECU when the injector is supposed to fire. I have power on both wires full time, even with key off. I'm worried tha...

So I'm still fighting this thing! I've taken out the dash again, and split the wiring looms to look for damage. I did find a few cut wires, and now I get all my dash lights back. It sounds as though the engine cranks with no compression, and I'm going through all my other systems before I get to tha...

WTB '92 SS ECU

See post http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=34640 for details on my ordeal! I'm pretty sure the ECU is toast, but not having much luck with anything, so I'd like to procure a back up ECU that I can try. I have loads of goodies to trade (or send money) if need be, just let me know what you ...

Any idea if the ECU would work in a '92? Mine is fried and I'm looking for options.

Well, I plugged all the relays back in, stuck the EJ20G ECU in, and nothing changes! I did find one small piece in the stock ECU that looks like it melted, and the fusible link that was in the car was made of speaker wire, so I suspected some damage there. The piece on the ECU that looks damaged is ...

Well, the car was an SS before, so the ECU and all wiring is the same, just have a new engine installed. Here is what I've found today. All of the relays that just click away with the key on are - main fan, AC cut, pressure exchange solenoid, fuel relay-are all getting signal from F47 plug on the EC...

Major eletircal gremlins after swap

I've done a lot of searching, and I've read the electrical book several times, but I'm still stumped! I have several issues-fuel pump relay clicks all the time, radiator fan clicks on and off and boost sensor solenoid runs full time with key on power. The car cranks but does not start. I have done e...

I burned mine out, then took a sawzall and cut the race out from the arm. Be sure your new bushing need the race removed, and DON"T remove it if they don't. I installed Noltecs which have their own outer race, so mine had to be removed. The burning out method took about 15 minutes and then I wa...

Igniter for Diamond coil

Last weekend turned out pretty well at the Pull-a-Part! I got a Diamond coil, newer plug wires and the igniter all for less than $35. I took the igniter just to be on the safe side, and I figured it might be an advantage to wire it in with the same coil from the same car. Issues that I see are it is...

Factory cruise control on 92 SS

I had the whole dash out for some conversion work, took off the steering wheel, etc. I noticed something that looked like a factory installed alarm "option" and optional cruise control. I say optional because while the modules have Subaru on them, they seem to use Radio Shack molex style c...

I'm guessing all the rear strut top mounts for the rear of a sedan are the same (90-91) between turbo and non-turbo? I need 90-91 only-tapered spring, so if you have those, shoot me a price.
Thanks-John.

Now that I am going through an EJ20G swap in a 92 SS, I've noticed all the different plugs as well. This being the major thing I've noticed (2 plugs on the G harness and 3 on the SS harness) For those of you who have swapped the same thing, did you swap the whole engine harness off the 22T (mainly t...
